Ancient Asemic Text.
Heather always sends thought provoking artworks – this is no exception. An asemic textual fragment, aged and shadowed. I am reminded of Phoenician Alphabet scrips from the 5th century, the marks here embedded in paper instead of basalt. Maybe its not paper. Its feels like a coating, the skin of a wall.

I received these 2 fabulous boekies on Tuesday, Laurie's contribution to Windmills of your Mind project. They are excellent - the colours in the blue photographic fairground one are so crystal clear - AWESOME! And the red one feels like leather, the paper is so textured and heavy, with a Stonehenge image inside. So different to the other but both beuatiful. Thankyou Laurie, it was worth the wait!…

The postal service in Decatur, Georgia, delivered a gift of the mind and soul from Karen Camplin in Highland Park, Illinois. It is from Karen that I receive the first "enveloped" mail art, which adds an entirely new dimension to mail art for me! Layered visual communication! The "feel" of the envelope is love, frivolity, attendance to image, a presence in the form of a finger print--is it Karen's?
Then inside, there is something more quiet, more layered--profound and warmly…
