Bain de couleurs with this mail from Viviana Cernjul. This is the work of a meticulous little mail art ant, all the lines of the envelope are cut out and glued on, and some of the circle inside the square are too, if not filled with felt-tip pen. A lot of work!
Thank you Viviana!…

I'm so happy Lauriana included me in her mailing list for this series of her, her work is just amazing.
The envelope is so original, it looks like vintage leather. It was also very tightly sewn closed, I had a lot of fun opening it with my mini scissors :-)…

I don't mean to brag (well, only a little bit), but I am still (no matter what some people might think) the number one mail art psychic in the house. A couple of weeks ago as I saw the picture of a monkey stealing Katerina's sandpaper on De Villo's blog, I predicted that some sandpaper monkey mail art would turn up very soon. Not only did it turn up, but it turned up in my…

Bone (n.) 1. The dense, semirigid, porous, calcified connective tissue forming the major portion of the skeleton of most vertebrates. It consists of a dense organic matrix and an inorganic, mineral component.
One fine day a mad but oh so talented woman in South Africa decided to make a book of bones. This has to be one of the greatest books…

I am the very lucky owner of two Ithaca/Itaca booklets. You remember the first one by Katerina Nikoltsou, pamphlet of paper and sand. This one is from Alfonso Filieri and I was equally blown away when I opened the envelope.
Alfonso's work with paper is just amazing. Crumples and scratches and subtle layers of wax give so much depth to an already beautiful thick…

Valentine's day brought me a fantastic package from Karen. A package that has been through a lot! If Karen voluntarily aged and dirtied the envelope, great job, because it looks very real! If on the other hand it is the work of the postal system I demand apologies! :-) I mean, how did they manage to poke a hole through it? (those damn holes are following me alright...).

When I cannot look at your face
I look at your feet.
Your feet of arched bone,
your hard little feet.
Those are the words of Pablo Neruda. Nothing arched or hard here, only the sweetest feet ever, gently resting on a Byzantine floor, so light they could actually be floating. Just one look at this card and a…

What are rabbits up to in their spare time? For all I know they might be tap dancing, but today Lisa is revealing another one of their favorite activities with this postcard: shadow hands (literally)! Unbelievably cute and funny :-))
4079 refers to the year 2011 according to the Lunar Calendar. Oh yes, it is that late already...
Thank you very much Lisa, this is a…

After I sort of messed up his envelopes last time I thought that Ahmet would give up sending me puzzles, but it seems like he is a very nice and forgiving person :-) This is the third set of envelopes I got, and I am going to repeat myself but, wow, how much work behind it! Millions of colorful dots for this stunning result.
The puzzle came in a sexy sleek no hear-no…

The words of Constantine Cavafy have inspired Katerina to make this absolutely FAB booklet. The gift of a poem delicately wrapped in precious textures.
When you start your journey to Ithaca,
then pray that the road is…

A bubbly and colorful card from Viviana Cernjul, with paint, pen and very cool stamps. My very first mail from South America, thank you so much Viviana!

A crazy funny postcard from RCBz on the menu today. I have to confess, I like my sushi to be of the extreme freshness, but I never suspected that this could actually kill me. I'll take the warning, RCBz.
It is true that the japanese are somewhat obsessed with the freshness and aesthetic perfection of their food. But whatever the (deeper) meaning of this card might…

Another super-galactico mail from Cheryl Penn has made it to my lucky mailbox. No angry in here, says the envelope (laugh!). I hear you, Cheryl...
The puzzle of family unfolds, complex and rich, beautiful and mysterious. This is another one of those pieces I just couldn't stop taking pictures of. Gorgeous!…

My first ever envelope from Australia arrived last week. Until now I only admired Helen's work on other people's blogs, but I am now the proud owner of one of her cards. A big slice of Australia for me, starting with the kangaroo envelope (love it!).
The card is a book page decorated with painting, postal stamps, rubber stamps? (not sure) and... one of Helen's silky…

This week I got a bit richer. Grigori sent me these very colorful Fluxus Bucks. I had to check out what they actually are, and found a whole world of arty bucks. As you probably know there is a group dedicated to them on IUOMA and hosted by Ruud Janssen, check it out here. These seem to be from Julie Jefferies aka. ex posto facto, miss Fluxus Bucks herself. A couple of them seem pretty "done", I might send them back to…

My scanner be damned again, I don't think you can fully appreciate the textures of this card, unfortunately. This is the second mail I was lucky to receive from Angie and Co, and if I'm not mistaken it is a "give what you get" in answer to my…
