This Group celebtrates Boring, ordinary, dull, commercial Postcards that feature aspects of our everyday life – such as streets, roads, houses -- and are, in a strange way, interesting because they are so uninteresting. Join in and share your Postcards of our Boring world.

"Having a lovely time. Wish you were here". NOT!!
On holiday abroad, I used to buy a load of touristy postcards, find a bar, and write on every single one of them "Having a lovely time. Wish you were here." (Sometimes there would be a 3rd sentence, such as "The hotel is good/lousy", "The weather is good/lousy", "The beerwine is good/lousy", etc.)
Well here are 4 Boring Postcards that reminded me of "We're having a lovely time. Wish you were here."*
Or NOT as you will see.
Number 1: a Youth Detention Center in Holland. ("My cell is the 3rd on the right")
Number 2: a French Military Cemetery (My grave is the 4th on the left, 15th row")
Number 3: a Swiss Sanatorium ("I'll feel better tomorrow when they let the air out of this sausage thing")
Number 4: a Dutch hospital ("Wish you were here. Wish the other people who were here in these beds were still here, but....")
I'm glad I was not there. Or there. Or there. Or there.
("Having a lovely time etc..." is also the title of a song by the Who)
Thanks again Katerina.
There is a fine line -- that I am trying to determine betwee a Boring post(card and a 'touristy' postcard. I am not sure where this one belongs.
Regards, Val
Thanks Bradford and welcome to the Group. As Boring Postcards go, this is interesting (to me) because it is doubly Boring (that's to say Boring-Boring): a Boring car-park, AND a Boring supermarket. Where is it from?
if you don't want it, can I have it for my Exhibitions, please.
Thanks

BORING POSTCARDS EXHIBITIONS
WHAT? Boring Postcards are exactly what they say they are, namely Boring Postcards showing Boring photographs of Boring places, presumably for Boring people to buy and send to their Boring friends. They include Boring images of motorways, roundabouts, roads, hotels, bus stations, factories, housing estates, airports, camping sites, swimming pools, convalescent homes and shopping centres. They are, in a strange way, interesting because they are so un-interesting
FORMAT: Original commercial postcards (ie not home made ones) only, and, hopefully, with the original address and message on the back). Only original postcards will be displayed.
WHERE? Two exhibitions are planned in the spring and summer of 2020 – one in Sigean in the South of France, the other in Wolvega in the North of Holland. Details of the exact sites will be posted later.
WHEN? In the spring and summer of 2020. The exact dates will be posted later.
DEADLINE FOR CONTRIBUTIONS: May 30, 2020
MAIL TO: Please send your Boring Postcards by mail to: Valentine Mark Herman, 1 rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F – 11130 SIGEAN, France

Is Dean still in the ail Art business?
Bestest, Val

Thanks Alan. Still in Wivenhoe? If you are striking for the next week or so, go and look for some Boring Postcards.
The escalier is indeed Boring: it reminds me of one in a house I used to stay in in Lille.
If you don't want the Postcard, can I have it for my Exhibition, please?

Thanks Mick, and welcome to the Group.
The first two postcards are suitably Boring. (The third is rather 'touristy'.)
If you don't want them, can I have them for my Exhibitions, please?
