I found this cookbook: Mother McCready’s Starving Artist Meal Timer. Made famous by her much loved recipe,“Sixteen ways to Imagine a Stale Cracker is a Slice of Bread Covered in Your Favourite Condiment”, it is a volume that has stood the test of time. In going through the various suggestions I found one I had forgotten: Majickformium in a Box. What Luck! I have five proper boxes (bubble gum boxes are the best!). Sadly, when I went to my cupboard I found I was completely out of…

My friend Christie Green of Radicule asked me a couple of months ago if I wanted to do a show in September (the fifth) in her new gallery. I said sure not remembering that I'm not an artist (in any traditional sense), have nothing to tell people about the topic at hand and in general am…

Helen Malone and I have been working collaboratively on a little book of drawings "Chance" which we have just completed. It was inspired by two German artists Ulrike Stoltz and Uta Schneider who work together extensively as USUS. It was their delightful lecture that inspired us to continue in the areas of collaboration. Our collaborative drawings in the book icluded some…

I have been a mail artist for quite a few years. I am sadly leaving IOUMA. There is a certain style of art I usually see here, and a style that I usually receive. It is a mid century-collage based cut and paste look, which I admire and enjoy, but is NOT what I do. I just got a comment that said my art was not hand-made, because I started with a print of a watercolor. This is not a photocopy, and even if it were, who is someone (across the globe, I might add, for which I spent $3 on…
