What mail art did *I* get today?

wednesday, 07/31/2019, 01:10AMOh, my, where to start? *All* of my mail was mail art today, and three pieces out of the four were from new friends and correspondents.First off, I've got an envelope from Hilgart, who hails from Charleston West Virginia, with a fab b&w graphic on the front, which contains some photographs, a very nice diagram of an 1840s mechanical toy horse, some Dada Dollars, and a copy of HILGART RECEPTIVE #7.Next up, a big bright red envelope from Truman Bentley, Jr. of…See More

Then he came to a certain one that i was actually proud how it came out visually. Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
a friend of mine who exchanged art showed me some cool thigs; i found some kindly strangers' addresses and sent them queer little postcards i had made. some people liked them and sent me things back. also more addresses. so i made more peculiar postcards and sent them to creative strangers,. also envelopes full of wonderful paper things and the odd package containibg weird and beautiful shit. it was a lot of fun for a long time, then i stopped for a while. now i want to create cool things to mail to other people again and fill my mailbox with fine and curious things. so i am starting up again.

While out on errands this morning, I found a half-dozen back issues of National Geographic and a self-published book of somebody's goofy poetry. Of course I brought them home with me! That's why I've issued myself a little creative challenge for this afternoon--making ten [10] cards with these requirements:

*Each must be a standard 5.5"x3.5" (13.97x8.89 centimeters to our non-Yank…

I'm BACK! [Warning: Sorry-Ass Excuses Ahead!]

Posted on July 16, 2017 at 9:30am 1 Comment

Hello, all! recently i've been a lazy lout, haven't done any mail art or much else. Some folks sent me beautiful and clever pieces i haven't acknowledged nor responded to.

Because why? Because i've been pretty broke. Because i've been feeling low. Because I got run over by  a car on Friday 06/02* (it's true!). Because me and my partner and our pets all live in a tiny little hotel room and I can't always get it together to clear a big-enough space to spread out my making…

Hi Vel Crowe--I got your wonderful MUNG #1 with teeth piece today -- wildly original, I think. I had to look up "mung" of course. At first I assumed it was a name for whatever gets stuck between your teeth. It should be!

Vel - thanks for the PC - nice 'Mitre Peak' address side - it saved me a journey - If the mountain will not come to Azzaro, then Azzaro must go to the mountain' . Original abstract on tuther side, and I liked the jagged edge. The Eastern Tailed-Blue butterfly was alighting on the mountain, and over yonder someone was letting off - fireworks. Great stuff.

Earthling, this may be the last but certainly it´s not the least welcome message to IUOMA you are going to receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. I´d love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
Curitiba-PR
80510-970
Brazil

I look forward to see a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I´ll do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.
