I think Camel made a point, in his ever-eloquent way, earlier in this thread, that USPS (and for that matter Royal Mail) may well be bloated and may have had a monopoly for so long that maybe a commercial solution would work better. I don't find the idea very savoury, but if it came down to it, a more streamlined postal service may be better for everyone in the long term no?
