"Yes, Terry, Gelli print and using a scratch foam "stamp" that I pressed over a background. Also using the end of my paintbrush to mark into the plate--the circles/spirals. I have great fun with my Gellis!"

FRIENDS OF SHOZO SHIMAMOTO

SHOZO SHIMAMOTO1928 - January 25, 2013 The shaved head goes around the worldWith my head shaved, in 1987 I was in America and Canada , and then I traveled in 1990 to Europe from London to Leningrad. In 1993 I went to Italy and Finland. During my steps I was greeted by many artists in the mail art who wrote their messages…See More

Thank you muchly for friend request which I gladly accepted. I look forward to our mail exchanges and insights and inspirations. I have many Zen friends in the PNW from my 3 years in Oregon. Most belong to either Dharma Rain or Great Vow. I have retired, mostly, from an active role as a temple priest and now mainly function as archivist, historian, and thorn in the side of the denomination and misguided policies from Japan. I'm always on the cusp of being kicked out or censured or reprimanded and rarely favored. And all of that suits me quite nicely. And with my move to Syracuse I've sort of retired from doing Chaplain work at least for now. I was looking at some of your photos and found some of your decorated papers so similar to some of the things I've done that I wondered how you came by them, but yours are by far nicer than mine and you have taken them in the final stages in a direction I'd not considered before.

So....
Thank you

Ryusho

Oh Jan, thank you for the "Cactus, Sun & Flowers" card -- it's really profound and beautiful. I'm afraid it's sideways here, but when I put it up in "Photos" I'll straighten it. I love the see-through effect in the yellow--you can see blue circles, like bubbles underneath.
