A digital catalog will be available to all contributing artists
All submissions must be received by July 15, 2020. Work will be exhibited virtually at LonnaKellyStudio.com (a website recently created to show digital responses to bi-monthly prompts to create and share work related to life during COVID) and a pop-up will be a post-COVID goal.
We will practice safe mail protocols – even though we know mail is not on the list of easily transmitting germs/virus.
Mail work to:
Lonna Kelly Studio, LLC
28 Sans Souci Drive
Pawling, NY 12564
Lonna Kelly, photographer, was inspired by Ray Johnson to create an ongoing mail art series. Every year since 2016 Kelly has printed one of her photographs as a postcard, handwriting on the card’s front, Modify and Mail to…adding her address. The cards are given away, left for people to fin. d in stores, galleries, and even mailed.
Matthew Hogan was curator at the Franklin Furnace Archive, an artist’s space in Tribeca New York City. He was involved with an international mail art / correspondence art exhibition in 1984. The FFA collects and exhibites artists books, performance art and supports artists in general. Today, Matthew manages a library, a movies house and a natural history collection in Pawling NY called the Akin Free Library.

Published in October 2019, the Snail-Mail & Mail Art Visual Poetry Art Call Sendmenudeletters boasts today the active participation of 92 artists, art students, and anyone interested, with an average of two works each, totalling more than 180 paper, digital, video and animation works. The exhibition is online, on the official website www.sendmenudeletters.com
The art call will end in October 2020; the curators will then prepare a digital catalogue (ePub).
Never before has the theme of the body been so topical. Re-defined, secluded, increasingly virtual. Physical contact denied. A new, unforeseen scenario foreshadows major changes, and we can’t predict how permanent they will be.
The imaginary of technology-mediated sex - the central theme of our call - has now a new player, at the moment the absolute protagonist of our lives.
Are new visions in the process of being distilled? The curators call on artists, art students, dreamers to envision a near future of love affairs and vital energy, which is always difficult to freely express.
Still need more swappers for Dog/Cat envies. Email me at:
