Before we begin please chant with me The Banana Hymn of the Republic (Lyrics by Rebecca Guyver). In this way we invoke the good spirits of the Banana and avoid the evil ones of which there are some.
Rebecca Guyver sent me this wonderful accordion book which I hope is viewable. It tells a visual tale of the exploits and exploitations of the banana. It also includes the hymn as seen above. The envelope (not seen) was also made of bananas. Thank you, Rebecca.
Katerina has been very busy lately. Her focus has been on the nature of time. This banana is only the tip of the iceberg. Though he too is bruised by time. Ed. note: I have added a housefly because we are temporarily out of fruit flies. Thank you, Katerina.
Angie's banana reminds me of those celebrity shots in interview magazine. A random banana party snap. This one looks a mite waxy...On the other hand, it might be The Year of the Banana in some alternate universe. Thank you, Angie
This was Alicia's entry and it was refreshing to take a short break from the banana color scheme. For some reason Alicia's banana entry reminds me of Robert Longo's drawings from the 80s. It has that gallery-ready look so I put it in a matte. Thank you, Alicia.
Finally Lynn Radford sent me this droll Dole Mandala which I thought Bob Dole might enjoy using as a quilt. Here's a bird's eye view of Bob luxuriating in his doleful splendor. Thank you, Lynn. I've got a few more banana's up my sleeve but this is what I could get to tonight.

Sweet blog post, Dave! Loved the droll political Dole! A quilt! For Bob! Who would've thunk it? I can't help but wonder what you might have done with the paper mache banana I sent to the honorable Artist in Seine....
Yes, I may be up to that by the time it rolls around...
I want your doctor, Dave. Let me know when he's taking new patients.
I'm out. Doctor said cut back on the fruits.
I know what you mean. Once Banana Momentum (BM) gets going the only thing that can stop it is Banana Entropy (BE) which, as you know, is expensive. Thanks again, for the cool book which is going to inspire me once I clean off my desk.
I loved the bananas this year! I have a backlog to blog and will, but it might be a little while as lots going on here. Just got Lynn's today. Great. So, thank you for blogging and thank you for my banana mailings and I'll let you know when I blog back. I was so bananaed at the end that I couldn't help making another two banana cards that are loitering on my table. What do you do with banana mail after banana day?
Rock and Roll symphony David! Ole Bob has been sunkist.
Robert Longo, could be. Borrowed from Bing.
This blog is a Banana Symphony, David!
Well-orchestrated with wonderful images and commentary!
Thanks for showing ALL the banana art and a few that we are waiting for :-)
