Two joyous pieces arrived this week. The first Giuliana de Fiori called 'fashion' but I guess it will need to be washed eventually... the second is something which came for Island Mailart from a local island artist, Susan Landor Keegin. Both make me want to go…

Only untill I uploaded the photo did I see AND understand what Sarah was saying on this colourful, funny story-telling-MailArt-Piece (#159/365)! Suitcase stamp? Suitcase stamp... ???? Ahaaaaa, look at the red thingy in the left upper corner, hihi. (Yes, I know my Dutch stamp collection by heart, not.) Beautiful lettering on the backside as well. Thank you,…

It was several hours before I was able to snatch it back because I kept seeing faces in the work. Unmistakable faces. I burst into Patti's room for independent verification. "Can you see this hippo?" She replied calmly, "You're hallucinating…

Lucky me, I received a bright yellow envelope from Marie with wonderful things inside to delight my senses!
Loved the graphics on the outside of the envelope...the back had artworks with collaged orange fruits to announce the MinXus Solar Festival 2012. They looked like little tarot cards to me... the three of pentacles and the six of pentacles (?)…

...And the world is full of all kinds of magical creatures--bandits, ogres, and sorcerers!
This gem arrived in a thick wad of plastic wrap, noting on the outside the delectible contents that awaited inside, and the ominous instructions: "Open carefully; GOOD LUCK!"…

Lynn sent me a wonderful and original trashpo piece, part of a short series, and it is an honor. Much thought, inspiration, and work went into it, and the shape of no other mail art I've seen matches it:
Please excuse poor camera quality…

Katerina Nikoltsou is so prolific, and so generous, that she is beyond amazing. Her blue art in the mailbox is always a sight for sore eyes, but this one stole my heart specially and immediately:
Why? I have no idea. The crookedness? The dots? The pick-up sticks feeling even though they look to be in nature? I just love it, and it was love at first sight. Thank you…

All in a nice (flowery, I might add) box, one of many to join the studio collection here as functional mail art:
That is scanned bread art. Each is marked on one side as bread art, and on the other side we have "part one" and "part two." They are ordinary, and hard as rocks. In person they are like quietly celebratory beacons with souls of their own. Erni posted a fine…

These came from Kerri in two separate mailings. The effect in the works is delicate, but you can sense strength behind them: …

Colorful, with definite presence, making a strong statement: The beautiful blue is actually darker and richer than the scanner is able to show. Thank you so much, Suus--mail art headed your way soon!
