Mim's scraps and stamp

I was the very lucky recipient of the MAILART 365 stamp that Mim offered as a prize to those of us still making mailart every day for a year once she had finished. Not only did I get the stamp, I also got a wonderful jiffy bag full of precious scraps.  I pulled out some of the scraps one by one and laid them down on the scanner randomly and this is what I got when I download…

Diane Keys aims for white trash

She wanted this trashbook pale and snowy, like the season:

It's very successful both as a trashbook and in fulfilling her wish for me to have white trash. I love it! Thank you very much, Diane, I too am fulfilled!  Four more photos follow, and viewers will see that some holiday color did sneak in there. A favorite is the 2nd Place ribbon in the last photo. It…

Holiday brightness from Prettylily and Roberto / Love card from Valentine Mark Herman

"Celebrate Light" is the perfect message this time of year:

Beautiful message, colors, shapes--I love it and have put it in the studio storefront window so people passing by can enjoy it too. Roberto Rios sent a very Christmasy card that I'm…

"Some Like It Hot" from Catherine Petre

Catherine says this is the artistic result of a conversation we had a while ago:

This is a monotype+collage, and I think it's brilliant--evocative, stylish, and detailed yet with a certain undefinable atmosphere. Catherine tells me not to worry, this guy "looks grumpy but he's sweetness itself!"  I love it, Catherine, thank you very much.  Very nice, artful envelope…

Zalop Tangle From Laura

Before I could wrap my head around which awesome piece of work to post today, my husband picked up Laura's Zalop Envelope, and so it was decided for me.

Laura approaches the Zalop Envelope using her Zentangle talents.  Zoom in close on these "tangles" folks and fall into the mystery, of how DOES she do it?  It's more than a doodle - it's a skill.  Laura…

Swimming to the Sound of that Song - from Nancy Bell Scott

Nancy has been spoiling (in a good way) my mailbox quite a bit last week. First with this ink drawing on thick paper of my favorite swimming aquatic creatures :-)) People tend to see all kinds of things in those drawings of hers, including things that are not in the dictionary. I have always seen them as aquatic creatures, but all of a sudden it stroke me that…
