From Japan: a Deborah Davidson etegami and a map fragment from Marie Wintzer

Two art works from Japan were in the mail box today. Long time traveling, but so happy to receive!Thank you both!xx

Debbie's art is well-known here at IUOMA...beautiful etegami.

Here is an open door for me, and a road to follow...who knows where i might be swept off to!

Marie's is  a delicate Japanese writing on even more delicate Japanese paper!

One side was a bit torn, but still very elegant!

Red threads flow forth and repeat the many red lines on a tiny map.

Welcome display for the Christmas tree!

No "sleeve" here, but instead a most interesting map fragment. Searching, searching the world of Marie's ancestors, one find oneself near the Chalet St-Hubert, in the thick forest near Steingraben, just to the west of Ubers, France, and south west of Colmar. A area that must be wild and green, full of winding paths and deep dark forest...mysterious and wondrous...Alsace MinXus!

Not to be ignored, is the envelope that this beauty came in. It too was welcomed on the

Christmas tree...animals and fun holiday images...and some MinXus stamps, too!

Great blog for interesting work MomKat - are you going to leave the mail art as tree decorations? I think its a FAB idea :-) X
