Received: Mail-Art's "Attitude Girl" from Diane Keys (Elgin, Illinois, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Diane Keys (Elgin, Illinois, USA)

December 7, 2010 - Diane Keys must surely have already earned some special place in the collective consciousness of mail-art for having started The Roadkill Club, breaking with Rain Rien Nevermind over the issue (and it takes guts to disagree with a guy who once mashed potatoes with Ray). Yet…

Received from Lindsay Stewart, Canada--Zine for the Symbol Minded

Lindsay describes herself as an eager snail mailer, a crafter of goods, and a supporter of hard work. It shows. Her zine was inspired by an old book entitled, Charlie Farquharson's Korn Allmynack, and is an alphabetized key for dream interpretations. Here are a couple of my favorite pages:…

An early winter sunset - from Katerina Nikoltsou

A piece of Greek beauty arrived in my mailbox the other day. A big slice of warm and luscious Greek sunset. And I should add, fragrant (I'm guessing cinnamon this time?). The painting is a perfect dégradé of orange in thick brush strokes. Wouldn't it be great to sip a tea at a table outside a café in front of the sea, best seat of the theater? I actually feel like I am there, in Thessaloniki, witnessing the sun… Continue

Received from the Crafty Hag, USA-St. Nick's Henchman

I haven't heard from the Crafty Hag for ages, but there's nothing like a blast from the past to keep me on my toes with this reminder that the Feast of St. Nicholas is upon us and painful things can happen to those who've been naughty.
