Another stunning layered collage from Karen was in my mail box today...(actually 2 cards from Karen!)
"W" is the unknown known of her asemic piece. And the scan does not do justice to the fine textures and colors of the papers, but they are FAB! Vintage penmanship writings in the background make for a gentle asemic landscape.
The the other card, small in size ,…

Mapped-out location on the "ceiling" of Herr Haptic's Cathedral of Collectables ( box:15x30cmtall x 7cm deep...6x12 inches x 3 inches deep). From DJ Turner to Blaues Barhaus to Lost AD? unknown location to me! Red shape is really a 3-dimensioal match box, with cathedral "windows" on either side.…

Asemic writing – it belongs to the post literate genre, right? Free floating, mind unbound, experimental, abstract. It hints at meaning, whilst denying specific content. It may use visual language structures whilst negating language concepts in its illegibility. It certainly free floats in the avant-garde, rooting itself (sometimes) in the earliest forms of writing.…

No. 26 of 40 handmade prints and it is elegantly RED! (and black).
The printing inks are rich and thick, adding to a haptic texture that this scan does not register.
It is necessaryto have it in own's hands to Feel the Art!

While on-the-road recently, Mim continued to make mail art for her 365 project...one-a-day-for -one-year.
And making an overnight stop in Ohio, near Athens, Ohio,...she created this special art card. And i so love maps!

Well, "GENERAL"...hate? It is a multi-layered tape transfer image, full of "characters" , some smiling in a vintage-postcard-ad way! Other image is a first-aid "helping hand". One has to not pass over art by Jon lightly. As multi-layered are the imageds he uses, so multi-layered it the art with meaning!…

You know it is going to be great when you see those fish stamps on the envelope in your mail box!
"Heart Matters" on the outer envelope...and a really-red envelope was in that envelope:…

Mail art received 1st week of May, being officially Autumn. It was my lucky day that I welcomed Frieder to the collaborative book group. He sent me a Leperello.
Leporellos are small folders almost, which open out to a large format. An accordion bound book is a typical example of this type of book . Frieder wrote in between his drawings that he uses paper as…
