Drawings from Frieder Speck

A beauty.  And another on the back:

As if that weren't enough, there was a very nice one also right smack on the front of the envelope:…

A singular challenge from Karin Greenwood

This really great card arrived yesterday from Karin. One of her ethereal angels has taken to the skies and is being greeted (or attacked???) by Karin's mythological birds. The people down below in the square seem oblivious to the action way up above them, they had better look out! The birds have even managed to escape to the envelope...... Thanks for a superduper work Karin!…

from Nadine Wendell-Mojica

Along with a good and adorned letter, Nadine included this:

A postcard from 1980, published by the Foundation for the Arts in Iowa.  There is no way Nadine could have known this, but I, although a very bad housekeeper, have a thing for laundry on the line.  One of my all-time favorite watercolor paintings is of laundry blowing in the wind, by Sargent, which I saw at the…

Theresa Williams knocks my socks off with Rilke and more

Folding card, opened, back and front:

O'Keeffe combined with Rilke -- who could ask for more.  It's a gorgeous card, and even includes the asemics on the back.  I love the slice of Rilke on the front, so that his eyes, which were so very far-seeing, stand out as if they existed on their own.  Inside is more Rilke, including his vivid relationship with both the…

Received from Diane Keys:

John Bennett's shopping + bonus to-do list, which I won for $1.50 on ebay;  a link to Diane's ebay description, which really must be read, and photo of JB's list can be found on Diane's blog.  I can read very little of JB's list and wonder if Diane has unwittingly practically given away a sterling example of 21st century asemic writing.  It will go on my studio wall, as will the 3D glasses she included, a gift from Kleenex and Disney, I'm proud to say.  (The 3Ds may at some point go out as…
