Why is MailArt Attractive?

The attractivness goes beyond the sending artist and the receiver... My mail carrier, the clerk at the post office, my partner who usually brings in the mail, the artist friends I have over every Monday morning for coffee (start the week well) ... they all enjoy the treasures I receive via snail mail. Then if you post it on Facebook, the excitement takes on another level of experience. It is inspiring.

Mail artists like to play and have fun even though they're "grown up" adults. I think this card I received from Katlynn really illustrates this well. x

Snail mail is vital tactile link to the rest of the world, primarily other artists. Stuff in the mail rocks in ways that email never will.

because mail art is the quickest way for both, an envelope or a creation of mine, to achieve instant metamorphosis and become a piece of truly art.

Mail art is getting a little piece of happiness in your mail amidst all the boring pieces of mail that one can normally get. It's a nice way to get a smile on your face.
