What couldn't be improved with a little whiskey and vermouth?

Let's admit it: all artists are alcoholics. It's O.K.!!!

Make art while drinking. Make art about drinking. Drive to the post office drunk to deliver your drunken mail art (no, wait, don't do that) Infuse your art with spirits. Create bottle art!!

Cheers y'all!!

Here's a quick lesson in 'how Vizma does her Drunkpo:'

1. Spend the day chopping bits out of book you would never read, eg. crapola romance novel with OTT expressions.

2. Drink a bottle or 3 of red wine.

3. In the evening put together the rhyming bits to make some semblance of a story, or not. OR put bits together at random, then drink more wine and marvel at your own genius, spill wine artistically over said poetry.

4. Reread poems in the morning while shaking head (very gently cos it'll hurt) and wonder what the hell you were thinking.

There you go! Give it a try!

Crystal Vodka, good but I much prefer a highland single malt scotch

This is beautiful. Exactly what I wanted this group to lead to. For all a bothy!

Ahhh!

Each his own. Each as welcome.

A bothy for the tired and weary.

A bothy for the misguided.

A bothy for the human kind.

Oh, we have those here too! We call them squats!

Hey Rebecca, maybe you could turn yours into an art studio!! Got any progress pics?

We've got a concrete chicken shed that we use for storage, I guess you guys could use it as a bothy if you come here!!?

Thank for blogging Niklas, and all of your enthusiasm! Taidgh, we fell in love with the word bothy when we were visiting the Isle of Lewis (Scotland) ten or so years ago.  We walked through gale force 70 winds to a bothy where we drank TEA. Later, on return we had something more recognizably Scottish.

My husband and son built (are still finishing off) a bothy in our field (for un-known usage) by rebuilding a chicken shed with straw bales and lime plaster.

I'm sure you are welcome to come and try to stay there but I'd wait for warmer weather...

So I think Rebecca is trying to tell us something. Free room, board and drink! Party in Rebecca's! :P

Hello Vizzie! I can answer your question! A bothy is a very basic dwelling that is unlocked. It can be used free of charge to rest the weary head. I'm not sure if this practice still exists but these places could be found in Ireland. I think there was some illegal bothy drinking den on some island. I have to mention the brilliant Bothy Band while I'm at it
