Always fascinating to see art spaces! 

My studio apartment was about 33 square meters ( 350 square feet?) and it was my bedroom, living room, kitchen, library...and art space. Vizma came and visited back in 2012.

Well it was sold last year, and I had to pack it all up:

 I was fortunate to rent a 30 square meter apartment in the same building as my son's place, (and my always mailing address). It is still a chore "unpacking" and finding space for everything. One day I'll have to post photos of an "organized "art space", if and when that may be?

The table top work area gets smaller over time. It'd due for a clean up but I've got an idea for a drawing so set up for that today. Some days, there's only room to do an ATC! hahaha  It's a very small room with one large window but the table is too long to fit in that area. Instead, my sewing machine table is set up by the window. The other wall is a built in book case with a tiny desk area for my laptop, and room for my ironing board always open used for both ironing and an extra work top. And lucky, me a small closet with a file big file cabinet, and hangers full of fabric, and storage above. I'm so fortunate. And this space is in our house, the former bedroom of our daughter, so I don't have far to go to get to my studio. Our children grew up in a studio. We didn't have a "family" room, we had a big room that my husband and I shared and the children played in it. They had access to all materials. The only rule was let us know when we run out of something. And be careful with sharp tools. hahahha They both are adults, they survived sharp things, and they're artists.

In Halifax, NS, they have reassembled the entire small cottage (tiny home) lived in by Canadian artist, Maude Adams.

Interesting collection on the desk and walls @David. I'm also a fan of Inktense pencils (spotted your set) and was delighted to be able to order a few colours from open stock at Jackson's art supplies in London, UK to augment my set. Even with postage they beat any price I could find in Canada or the USA... well.. let me correct that, Delta Art in Edmonton beat the price by a few pennies, but had shipping costs so high ($16 for pencils dagnammit!) that Jackson's was better on checkout. https://www.jacksonsart.com/en-ca/derwent-inktense-pencil-ca.

at one time my eldest started invading my desk terratory when he first started highschool and he liked doing his hw there, but he started leaving his studybooks there, and i decided enough is enough and started bellowing about tidying up. lmao.

It's always hard with children.  We are empty nesters that sold our largish family home 15 years ago and since then have lived in an urban condo that is only 750 square feet total so every space has to be multi use. When my grandchildren visit the fan belt comes off the treadle machine and the messier art supplies get locked away. There is a "kid basket" of supplies for them. Having everything in IKEA shelves and baskets is a pretty good system because I can change the configuration of shelves.  I really would like the Silhouette machine off the table though.  I just can't find enough shelf space right now.

Linda R, its still a lovely looking space to sit n create....or contemplate. I dont really have a designated space marked out as such. I have the desk to sit at a do stuff, but the rest of my stuff has no home and is scattered around the house willynilly. my desk corner is in the corner of the dining room which is only divided from almost being an openplan room with the family room by a doorless archway. things are made even harder for me that i cant leave things out during a creative pause due to my younger child being autistic and inquisitive fingers

Heather, my art space is also my home office space and it is only set off from the rest of our condo by 2 sets of sliding shoji screens so it is essentially the corner area of an L-shaped living area in an open-concept condo. The table sits on top of the files for my biz (arts and non-profit communications/fund-development).
