Yes Anna I meant the green fluffy cabbage variety BROCCOLI. It is one of my favorite vegetables , back home in Maastriht I cook it in a steamer, here I boiled it which was a mistake.

Dear Rod,

perhaps you intend BROCCOLI (italian word with the accent on the O), a cabbage variety and BROCCOLETTO of the turnip family.
Compliments for your interesting travel and experiences.

All the best

Anna

Watch that thin mountain air Rod, eat hearty, rest and do a lot of fabulous photos. Those are wonderful.

Chantal you have a thing for leather boots! The gelati I loved is Pistachio.

I enjoyed Rome so much, I had all kinds of food and found a grocery in a store called Coin that was like the Super Fresh here. Had everything and was perfect when my friend and I wanted to picnic in. Prices were really good and fair. Polluted fish, the broccoli is better, gas propelled.

Nuts! that is a definate for tomorrow, I eat mounds of peanuts at home don't know why I stopped here! The fish I looked at today looked too relieved to be out of the water so I left it lying on its cosy bed of ice and went for (forgive me for I know I have sinned) veggy burgers from the health food shop... zucht... but the brocolli was super... honest, thanks for caring... did you listen to madds on my page yet? I bid the all a fair night, I shall return, all brightness and breezee (it's a result of the brocolli) on the morrow.

Your pictures are beautiful, I love the canal and courtyard, the gate really make it interesting. Get more veggies, and saute in the olive oil, over pasta and fresh fish. Nuts and dried fruits too.

oh and Christine, I sent the poems to you today hanging on an email, did you get them? I ask because the Internet connection is a tad unreliable today. Also many email programmes tend to shuffle my stuff into the spam box... perhaps Bill Gates is trying to tell me something!
