An artistamp (a portmanteau of the words "artist" and "stamp") or artist's stamp refers to a postage stamp-like artform. It is similar to a Cinderella stamp in that it is not valid for postage, but it differs from a forgery or a bogus stamp in that (typically) the creator has no intent to fool any post office or collector of stamps. (However, depending on how the stamp is used, it may be difficult to distinguish artistamps from local post stamps.) The artistamp is intended to be a miniature artwork which can depict or commemorate any subject its creator chooses.

I was wondering if we shouldn't all make an artistamp celebrating and/or documenting the 20th anniversary of IUOMA...? I would enjoy it. What do people think?

Hace cuatro años 194 chicos murieron en un recital de rock, hoy seguimos esperando saber quienes son los responsables de esta locura, a las 194 almas va mi homenaje.

I met Harry Fox when he visited Amsterdam in 1985. He came from Tampa, lived in UK for the last years. he sent his typical Harry Fox Stamps (hand-perforated). As far as I know he died years ago..... Yes, remember him (even have a photo of him in Amstedam in 1985 visiting the schottenburgh exhibition by Sonja and Marjot from Afzet).

I have 3 copies of this book: "The world of Donald Evans" in my collection. It is a thick book with all his artistamps in it. Dnald Evans created them in the 70-ies in Amsterdam even before the word 'Artistamps' was invented. His works were exhibited in the alternative and formal gallery system. All artistamps were created / drawn by hand. A beautiful and heavy book. Available for the collectors if they want it.
