Feminist voices, feminist ways

 “Feminists for as long as it takes” (“Féministes tant qu’il le faudra”): this slogan, often seen or heard at feminist demonstrations, is more relevant than ever, given that women’s* rights are under attack all over the world, often head-on, by those who are determined to maintain their patriarchal dominance at any cost.

Against this systemic domination, voices have been raised and continue to be heard: those of feminists past and present. Against this domination, paths are being traced, intersecting and converging… on a world map of struggles waged!

We invite you to unleash your creativity to amplify these voices and to create a postal map of these paths. Feminist, of course!

 

Mail art, as simple as a letter in the post !

1. Choose a cardboard or an envelope (or make it yourself)
2. Take up the theme, transmute it through the alchemical process that is your creativity and illustrate it (free technique : drawing, painting, collage, silk-screen printing, calligraphy, embroidery, etc.).
3. Send us an e-mail with your contact details (last name, first name, postal address and e-mail) to confirm your participation : wilmet@afico.be
4. Send the postcard or envelope before January 31 2027 to : AFICo asbl, rue Saint Nicolas 84, B‑5000 Namur, Belgium

Maximum submissions : 2 // Required dimensions : 10x15 cm (4x6 inch)

5. An exhibition will be held in Namur in March 2027.

Voix féministes, Voies féministes

« Féministes tant qu’il le faudra » : ce slogan souvent vu ou entendu dans les manifestations féministes est plus que jamais d’actualité tant les droits des femmes* sont attaqués partout dans le monde, souvent frontalement, par ceux qui veulent à tout prix maintenir leur domination patriarcale.

Contre cette domination systémique, des voix se sont fait et se font entendre : celles des féministes d’hier et d’aujourd’hui. Contre cette domination, des voies se tracent, se croisent et se rejoignent… sur un planisphère de luttes menées !

Nous vous invitons à déployer votre créativité pour donner un écho à ses voix et pour établir une cartographie postale de ces voies. Féministes bien sûr !

 

Comment faire pratiquement ? : l'art postal, c'est simple comme une lettre à la poste !

1. Choisir un carton format carte postale ou une enveloppe (ou la réaliser soi-même) (dimensions 10x15 cm)
2. S’emparer de la thématique, la triturer grâce à ce processus alchimique qu’est votre créativité et l’illustrer (Technique libre : dessin, peinture, collages, sérigraphie, calligraphie, broderie, etc.)
3. Nous envoyer un mail confirmant votre participation avec vos coordonnées complètes (Nom, prénom, adresse postale et e-mail) : wilmet@afico.be
4. Envoyer la carte postale ou l’enveloppe contenant une carte postale avant le 30 janvier 2027 à l'adresse suivante : AFICo asbl, rue Saint Nicolas, 84, 5000 Namur, Belgique.

Max. 2 œuvres par artiste // Dimensions requises :10 x 15 cm

5. Une exposition sera organisée autour du 8 mars 2027.

Inspired by the submitted artworks, Associazione Arcobaleno APS will create a bench for its bookcrossing activities, dedicated to the community of the city of Turin.

Associazione Arcobaleno APS is a non-profit organization based in Turin that focuses on mental health promotion, community-based care, and social inclusion through participatory cultural and educational activities.

We hope to see you among the participants. Any help in sharing the call would be greatly appreciated!
