Gü is working on her branding again. I think this could be sort of like a change of address card for her new name: Gü (formerly G___ U______) but still in Norwich thank god. In which case: Duly noted Gü though I may occasionally leave the ümlaut behind to save valuable time. In the cellophane bag a lower case "u," inscribed on side: "What wood u do without G?" It's a puzzle within a puzzle and that's why I'm calling in Benedict Cumberbatch to decipher what it could possibly mean. Thank you, Gü. I love it though I worry about ü (in the art i mean) and please tell me this is not pronounced "Goo," because I might have trouble with that.

Let us now praise Richard Canard: the Last of the Great Aphorists. I guess it was Nietzsche who once said, "I defy anyone to type my name correctly without making a google." Or it may have been Richard. In fact, it probably was Richard. Like Nietzsche Richard's aphorisms cover a broad spectrum of voices and tones from the Confessional: "Some of the silly things that I put on a postcard I wouldn't dare write in a letter," to the low down: "In mail art no one ever really wins as it could just as easily be called a drawing," to the sublime, "Three Great Americans—If I do say so myself." Mr. Canard gives his pen broad leeway to paint these tiny word portraits which, taken together, describe a cool mind wounded by a cruel time. Thank you, Richard and let the Potlatch Logrolling continue.

I've been intrigued by the adoption of the Gu identity by the artist (formerly known as Gina). In fact, I've done a blog of her work which is competing with this one and could, frankly, use some help. By attaching the Richard Canard star power, David has made a much better blog than mine. Anyway, I'll discard the self-absorption here and get to my point.

I have always thought Billy Name (of the Warhol Superstars) is just the greatest fake name choice anywhere. It so neatly solves all the problems involved in choosing a fake name.

I knew you got it really!

As for lost in translation... It would seem I've innocently put my foot in it again! I really need a British/US dictionary/Thesaurus! Apologies if I've offended anyone.

Gü, thanks for the exposition. I didn't really need it. Your art work doesn't present as a puzzle and I feel shame that I wrote about it like that. It's a natural piece of typographic art with the stalwart Clarendon (Font) and the cellophane u was cool too. I meant to ask how you cut that out so well. We don't have the dessert gu here as far as I know but I'm in a sleepy backwater. However, I must tell you that puds have different meanings across the waters. Thanks again. See you in the mailbox.

Thanks for blogging David, you beat me to it - your fab card is travelling around with me as a book mark at the moment, it's job is nearly done.

Great musings from Richard C too.

...Do you have desserts in the US by a company called  ®? Their puds are quite delicious.

I once wrote them when I wanted to open a shop and thought I'd like to use my initials (yes pronounced Goo finishing with pursed lips like you're doing a selfie ;-) They wrote back that I couldn't use my initials that way as it was now their registered trademark, so I'm taking it back... To be fair I don't use the umlaut when writing my name, so it's fine to drop it. Gina U is fine too. In fact I don't mind what people call me so long as it's not names!

droppin was somethin I saw you doin so wondered how Ü would feel... Some just call me but without a G, I'd be a girl without a name, maybe folk will just shout out "Hey, U"

- I didn't mean for it to be too cryptic, I've saved you Benedict's fees now!
