Blue tape- ATCs from Karen Champlin and MinXus stamps from Dark wall

I have several blue tape envelopes from Karen Champlin. I don't really know what Karen and De Villo's blue tape collaboration really is about, but I take it as a seal of quality :-)) Her ATCs are pocket-size masterpieces. Extremely well crafted. I love the neatly punched holes on those (and the A inside!). Every time I see them I think yes, she truly is the boss of them ATCs. Lucky me, thank you Karen!

From one blue tape to another one, I am proud to introduce Dark wall's new MinXus stamps. Dw doesn't send out much mail but he actually is a prolific artist. He doesn't talk much (though he can repeat the word DKoder an impressive amount of times) so I thought I would make a bit of promotion on his behalf. I consider those as received material and I will be using them on future envelopes to promote the Arthur Rimbaud School of Aesthetics and Subtle Obscurity :-))

The first set of stamps was a prototype, bearing a blue tape X, which I found really cool. The set below is the final version, with some of the minxes wearing little crowns. I just love them, thank you Dark wall, as usual your imagination knows no borders!

Yip, I was a lucky one who got one of those asemic talismans too. She does send out a lot of great stuff!

Cool Marie, IUOMA-oriented vispo. For sure Karen introduced the red and black tape. There's a textural thing going with the tape as well. This made me think just how haptic KC is with all those 3-d pieces she does. This is my KC talisman, one of my favorites. You know, she's one of the first people I've seen use religious themes in vispo.

And I HAVE to add those!:

and she says she's not a vispo expert!

Black from Karen:

And the first mail I got from DVS was blue tape (but the tape was on the envelope). Beautiful:

Good blog, Marie. I recall many "blue tape" envelopes and mai art from Kaen. She first inroduced me to vispo and what was soon to become "asemics".

p.s. also great Fluxus stickers!

Me see some on mail art from Japan soon? ..hint..hint ;-)

BC, good one Dw. Yes, a lot of things go in terms of BC and AC for us, don't they.

Some of my favorite vispo by Cheryl include those:

But Dw is quite some vispoet himself, I have to say.

Karen, yes, fantastic work. I think I have blue tape and also black tape from her. I'd have to check that.

Right CB, and thanks. The concept was basically anything that incorporated blue masking tape in some way. Karen has been including tape of various colors in some of her work for a while to keep the theme going and also, I think, because tape can be a useful material in mail-art.

Dw says there was no vispo BC = Before Cheryl. So I suppose in his world she invented it. But when we go back further, wow, Karen Champlin has brought so much to it.

Thanks DVS. So that's one of the earliest blue tape if I understand. And it has been published? (tell me if I'm getting this wrong). In any case, it's a beauty. And we talking a lot about vispo these days, I think this is a fine example. Great!
