I don't know if it because its the beginning of the year, or we're getting old-ER!!! Or its just serendipitous, but I had a rush on the subject of time. David Stafford sent me a calendar which included some of the DeskTop images from an old project - well its not ttthhhhhaaaaat old! Pink Floyd - Ticking away the moments. That make up a dull day. Fritter and waste the hours. In an off-hand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground...
So I'm thinking that if the toothed column ate an og, we're missing something with teaching?
My favorite of course is by the Enchanter himself - Education is like a big-haired girl in a bare tree :-))!
I never thought that DeskTops would come in so handy :-)
From Marie Wintzer aka Sweet Pea (Japan). I asked her to make me a cover for a new book I am building to keep all her beautiful artworks in.
Time like an ever rolling stream
Bears all its sons away
They fly forgotten as a dream
Dies at the Opening day.
12 months, how fast they fly. How quick the silver mercury slips through our fingers, looking for cracks in which to disappear.
From Guido Vermeulen (Belgium) - The Time Sheet (Envelope)
Included was this Chapbook by David Stone, and illustrated by Guido titled Night Town (Phrygian Press)
A few lines from
A Cinder of Time
In Multiple places,
tired people
scratched visions
of indented theories
of matter and cells...
set on the table
a theory of causation
about an episode in Vienna.
But - I think, if we can end our time as "Color me Beautiful" , looking like this card TICTAC (Germany) sent, the measure of our season turns will be Color Me Warm.
Many thanks again for a wonderful selection of work :-) X
Comment
ViZma - does your hairpiece (Cassandra?) go on dates on her own, or do you tag along? Katerina - thank you - yes, I have received GREAT mail art - I'm glad I had a breather to blog some :-) X
She said no to Molly and Debussy. Wants something more exotic and underwatery!
(Clouds got in the way...)
Seriously now, this is a beautiful blog, Cheryl,
and you have received wonderful art...
(even if that peDOG ical calendar with the Greek Order is out-of-order ;-) xxx
I think Molly sounds good. Like Mollusk. Like jellyfish, sorry, octopus.
Oh Jessie, I will cut fresh flowers for you, oh Jessie. Nope.
Jessie?
Oh yes, it- I mean she does need a name. But nothing that will make us sing the same thing for days on end. Not Joni. Or Graceland.
And she whistles in tune.
I thought it was a she!? I think she needs a decent name.
Me too :-))!!! Your hairpiece too? Can it sing in tune? :-) X
