I just reorganized my artspace to make more room for more works in progress.

I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my workbench surface is cleared and ready to create. Has anyone taken a similar approach to free up workspace? See More

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
The networked, open, outsider aspect of mail art intrigues me. Participants select themselves, exchange ideas, aesthetics and concepts free from the constraints of gatekeepers, geography or societal roles. Sending mail to strangers is a form of gift-giving and brings its own rewards. Getting mail from a stranger adds an element of surprise and delight, especially during these times of social isolation.
