DECOS - Do you miss them?
Do you miss Decos? What’s a DECO? It’s a sort of mail art friendship book, but with a theme. Each book has around 6 to 10 pages inside and a THEME. You do a page according to your art style and following the theme, and you mail it to another DECO person. It’s like an ADD/PASS, in a way. - Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
- I'm a former actress and singer, now teacher and lover of life! I am a mixed media collage artist, specializing trash and vintage. I also love poetry, so many of my pieces include poems. I rescue old old poetry volumes from library sales, thrift stores, etc, and use the pages. I also do altered books, covering the pages of old weary books with life!
Irony and depravity are key, as I find humor in almost every aspect of life. I'm originally from New Orleans, but now live near Chicago. I've been creating and sending MAIL ART all over the world since 2000. I'm an artist, teacher and writer. I special in trashpo and vintage collage. I also produce comic ZINES.
I don't like perfection... I like raw soulful art that does not shock for shock value.
I love pen pal letters, tacky postcards, and whatever you want to send me.
VINTAGE is my thing, and I love thrift stores, antique malls and Ebay (aka "the devil"). LOL!

I live in Philadelphia on the Spruce Street address but my parents live in Mendham NJ at that address. I pick up mail that goes to Mendham once or twice a month. But if you want mail to get to me faster, send it my Spruce Street Philly address.
