Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I love the challenge and the community. Have an open call about climate change to share with the IUOMA community.

Hello everyone, happy to be a part of this community. I live in Puerto Rico and we were seriously devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. One of my responses to this crisis we are encountering was to launch an activist initiative called Artists for Climate Change. I launched an OPEN CALL for works to be received by DECEMBER 31, 2017. As artists, we can use our imagination, creativity and craft to challenge the status quo and make the world a better place. This initiative wants to continue raising awareness on climate change issues and demand ethical action for our own good and future generations. I direct a space called Matadero Art in San Juan, Puerto Rico, that may be used for the exhibition, but I am speaking to local museums and cultural centers. We want to take this exhibition on tour, to the US and other countries. An important highlight of this exhibition is the book project under the title: "#NOTFAKENEWS: Climate Change is Real". To make this a success and maximize the impact, I need the help of committed artists like yourself that want to unite in one voice and be part of this initiative. Please share with fellow artists and friends throughout your networks so we can make a huge exhibition from artists worldwide, make a big fat color book and send a copy yo climate change skeptic, Mr. Trump, and a traveling exhibition. Thanks to all. For comments questions, ideas, shoot me a message here, on our facebook page or website. THANKS!!!

In August of 2000, I attended the International Conference of Mensa at Cambridge (UK).  One of the hosting speakers was Dr. Jack Cohen.  A synopsis of his talk on climate change pointed to the miniscule recorded history of weather/climate data and the various random factors (solar energy variance = 3%; MUCH greater than human influences on climate), then concluded with the statement, "random is clumped."  So, any "trends" are just clusters of like data in a continuum and cannot/should be extrapolated as many "climate change scientists" have done.  Relevant to this point is the fact that climate change models ignore patterns.

"Climate science is not a science. It is a criminal venture intended to extort money from the public. Whatever they are doing, has nothing to do with science."

In the 17 years since Dr. Cohen gave his lecture, the schism has only deepened.
