PART 2 OF MORE FROM MIM
7. Green Acres Resort, Lake Okoboji, Iowa
"Modern Cottages. Reasonable Rates. Boats; Bait..On Emerson Bay...Beautiful Blue Water.", and the most boring rooms in the whole State of Iowa. (What is an 'unreasonable' rate?)
8. Lutheran Hospital, Moline, Ill
Do you have to be ill to go to this Hospiatl in Ill? Do you have to be an ill Lutheran?
9. Washington High in Two Rivers
"The coolest spot in Washington"? Seems pretty uncool to me -- just another High School. And who made this claim to fame?
10. Ogle's Buffet Restaurant, Gatlinburg, Tenn.
"The newest idea in dining in Gatlinburg's newest restaurant. [NB 2 'newests'°] Buffet service in a delightful relaxed atmosphere. Our meals are unsurpassed [says who?] for quality and quantity. Go back for seconds [and thirds and fourths and...?] on our deliciuos salads and vegetables. Free parking in our spacious restaurant. [You will need the space after eating so much.] Five Hot Meals. Five Hot Vegetables.. Twenty-five salad varieties (fresh and crisp on crushed ice). Located opposite Gatlinburg's Chamber of Commerc [wow!] and free parking lot." [2 references to parking: it must be a problem in Gatlingburg]
OK, I'll phone 436 - 4157 for a reservation
Hello Gang!
Mim sent me ten Postcards, and wrote "Not so boring, boring, just not that interesting -- you be the judge."
Please see my comment on this in the 'Interesting Postcards!!' Duscussion
MORE FROM MIM -- THANKS AGAIN Mme MIM!
(Part 1. Part 2 tomorrow)
1.St Karlikirche, Lucerne, Switzerland
Anyone like to comment on the architecture?
2.Grimsel
The twin-peaked mountain in the background is 2160m high. The hotel (if that's what it is) looks pretty bleak.
3. Roundabout (?) , Sustenhorner, Switzerland
Leaving aside why anyone would make a postcard of this, whay on earth would these vehicles -- a bus/coach and a truck -- come all the way up here, only to have to turn around and go back again?
4. The garden of Hotel Regina, Stockholm, Switzerland
A hotel with lots of history -- look it up on Google -- that, alas, no longer exists.
5. Stone Mountain Inn, near Atlanta
Most of the view on this Postcard is of the Stone Mountain, and little of the Inn. About the Inn, "90 spacious guest rooms...heated outdoor pool...daily lunheon buffets, including as pecial selection Sundays (which) are fast becoming an INN trademark'. Now you know.
6. Donaueschingen
The Celery Strykes Again.
I'll try and make it simple, Mr C.

30.07.20 Dare Mister Val M.H., .... oh, I get it. ....the" Interesting Postcards" will, of course, be disappointing & "boring" & the "Boring Postcards" will continue to be interesting & unique. How clever you are Val!!!--- attempting to serve all our wishes & please everyone....but I also have to agree with Ms. Mary---where do we send the "Interesting Postcards" as I know I'm gonna have a hard time keeping all this straight. TWO FROM MIM: LOOK AT WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT
Thanks again, Mim!
1. Cincinatti View
"View of Downtown Cincinnatti and Ohio River fro atop Carew Tower". (Includes 3 1/2 reav view of heads, 3 of which are blonde-ish)
2. Holiday Inn Knoxville Tenn
"Dale Ave at 17th St. This beatiful new addition to the Knoxville area Holiday Inns offers the finest in comfort, convenience and service." And a swimming pool. And another pool for children. And what looks like a tennis court. If you don't want to stay at this Holiday Inn, there are 5 others in Knoxville.
(Why, I wonder, is one third of this card taken up by the silhouettes?)

Boredom is an artist's or poet's greatest resource
Quote found by Val 17 seconds ago:
"The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity." (Dorothy Parker)
Goede morgen, M Eend. Do not give up: it is forbidden once you join this Group. A running theme from day 1 has been is this Postcard Boring, or not. I found your High School Postcard classicly Boring, enlivened -- just a teeny, weeny bit -- by the car. I didn't take any notice of the architecture of the building, but Jenn did. In the immortal words of Sly -- he of the Family Stone -- different strokes for different folks... "And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo"
Bonjour Bradford, tell me more please about photographer's stock numbers and where I can find them. Thanks, Val
