Hi. I would like to draw attention to the strange activity of the user named ‘Inaya’:
https://iuoma-network.ning.com/profile/Inaya?xg_source=activity

‘Inaya’ emailed me a letter:

Greetings to you.
From mail Artist.
I know this message may come to you as a surprise. I'm Inaya Suru. I just went through your profile on mail Artist, so interesting. I would like to have a conversation with you and it is very important.
An urgent response will be appreciated.
Regards,
Inaya Suru.

The next day I received a very similar letter:

Greetings from Mail Art.
I hope this Email will find you in good health, and I know the message will come to you as a surprise. I'm Caragh McCarthy. from Portland OR, US. I saw your Email address in mail art. Your profile is so interesting. I would like to have a conversation with you.
Am waiting for your urgent prompt.
Sincerely,
Caragh McCarthy.

Very interestingly, a spammer called ‘Caragh’ was previously banned from this portal.

I would like to find out if 'Inaya' is really making art and how she sees her future involvement in Mail Art.

I have been known to alert both the domain supporting their email address and to write to the Attorney General or equivalent of the country specified in their plea.  None of that mail has ever been returned so I know my letter got through.

Also, the pigeon-English used to create their message is often so bad that I deemed some of it comical and saved many over the years in a separate folder in my email portal.

Gmail seems to be the portal of choice although yay-hoo was more popular in years past.

My parents got duped by a "grandchild in trouble" email once, but fortunately a sibling stopped it before any money/credentials changed hands.

At times I wonder what Rain Rien Nevermind would post here; greatly missed.

Oh well the invocation to God is a give away, my many rich relatives in Nigeria used to write in the same style, keen on leaving me their money. They have not contacted me for ages. I miss them.

Spam Alert!

Never give money, credit card info online...

Never respond to an email that you do not know...Be Careful.

Ruud does a great job here by examining new members as mail artists,

but a few "spammers" sneak in,

like this one, hopefully soon to be removed:

kacee holmes left a comment ......

"Hello .I am Mrs.Kacee Holmes, an aging widow suffering from long time illness (Esophageal Cancer). I have some important information (charity proposal) for you, May God continue to bless you, Please reply me to my email below for more details.…"
DO NOT REPLY!!!

I have now read about spammers: I thought that here on IUOMA everything was a lot

Sure, I also left Facebook because viruses were arriving.

MGS, I think 95% of the spammers out there do it in hopes of financial gain, though fraud, theft of financial info., etc.  Then there are the few who truly just like to create "chaos" -- it is their warped idea of fun.  What a world!

Thanks for this update Ruud. A rhetorical question - What the heck do they gain from this terrible behavior? What do they get from creating chaos?

"A spammer is sending members of IUOMA -mails that they are suspended. Not true, fake news!"

The sender her/him-selve is banned though and is resending this message. Nothing is happening inside the IUOMA-network.

Has any one had an email from Mira Donovan? A new members as of 4 hours ago, emailed me to get in touch re: a project. Hmmm. I sent a message via IUOMA to them. Will see what happens.
