From Social Media back to Blogs?
With the social media becoming ever more commercial ans als less trustworthy I notices more and more people start to renew their blogs. In this privat envirinment at least you know who is sending the message and the images and videos and you don't get that much sponsored messages
Am I the only one seeing this developement. For me it feels natural to get back the control on a blog, and maybe post the message on some social media. But reactions and control of contect stays with me.
What will happen to mail-art when the Post Offices dissapear?
In the last years the Postal Office boxes started to dissapear lot. After that the Post Offices started to dissapear too. Sening out traditional envelopes and posrcards has become a rare part in society. The postal rates went up because there were so little envelopes and cards left, and the next step is to stop this service. Since the digial communication took over most part, this seems to be unavoidable.
The parcels still flow, but only inside your country it is affordable. Sending parcels to abroad has become a real financial problem.
So Mail-Art is about to end in some way unless you are rich and can afford the postal rates and special coriers that there surely will be.

I work wit Indian Ink and Watercolours. These special Auquarel paints are from White Night. Very bright and special. Using them since 1991 when I discoverd them in St. Petersburg.
New Developements
With the postal rates going up and postal services dissapearing the Mail-Art network is thinking on larger scale on what to do. People close their P.O. Boxes. Post goes slows and becomes a rare event.
Digital communication isn't the same though. The intimate feeling of a piece of paper is still the precious event for some of us.
For digital communication we have become dependant to the larger social media. Theown websites start to cost too much money too. I already had to close some formal domain names because they kept reaising the prices even a few times a year.
We also get older and the financial aspect of our income is deciding for us what we can still allow us to do. Can we still pay the postage and the ways of communication we seem to need?
The year 2025 was a strange one. Closed my P.O. Box, and also closed the iuoma.org domain name. The bills went up while I wanted to cut dodn the costs. So that meant some changes it the traditional communication that was possible.
Yes online I have a large presence and others can still easily contact me in a digital way. What will happen in 2026 isn't sure yet. I will turn 67 years old and that means working for money stops and you are forced to deal with getting older and get all kind of freedom for it in return.

Some of the old content of www.iuoma.org will be placed on a new blog that is located at:
P.O.Box 1055 closed
Since Januari 2025 the P.O. Box I used for IUOMA is closed.
All mail sent to this box will eventually be returned to the sender.
Seems P.O. Boxes used by individual persons isn't made easy and has gotten way to expensive.
Also the domain-name iuoma.org will eventually vanish from the network.
