Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

I just put a "draft" in the blog post queue. I am wondering if other participants can see that there is a draft scheduled for 1 Dec and if so, can you see any of the text or images?

Super! I'm making mailart tonight with Elena, and may schedule stuff so I look busy

Hi folks - feel free to start writing on the blog in advance of the start date, but try to keep the pieces you're sending til December the 1st when you can finally unleash it all!

As a tip for those keen amongst you, you can schedule your blogs to post for you in advance, by selecting the more options bit at the bottom of each blog post at the point of posting in blogger.

I know I know, I can barely keep my enthusiasm in check either!

This I would love to see Postmuse. I agree, the cost is the same, but the temptation to bring a smile to someones face would be overwhelming. Also, is there not something like a "sell-by" date, after which time the written stuff may not be relevant any more? The art will never age, but the wording perhaps?

If you do, I would LOVE to see this up on your REAL wall before it goes out!

I am very tempted to send all the postcards at once, on Dec 1 2011. It would cost the same amount as sending them as they are created, it's just that the cost would also be all at once, but I could budget for that. I think I would address and write the postcard the day I make it, and then at the end of the year, I could read the all postcards, in order, and perhaps the would tell a story about the year. Not really sure ... thinking out loud here.

I am sure that the size of the group will organically self-regulate. These things invariably do

The group may be self-limiting because of the commitment and the expense (postage!) Shall we wait and see?

By the way, does anyone have a preference on how many people get involved? I am open to suggestion, and always love to encourage people to make mailart, so I don't think I'll close the call. If anyone wants to join they can at any time right? What are others thoughts on this?

Berubes face a day and monthly bugs were fabulous Dewi, I agree.

So far, we have 9 mailartists officially signed up. I think this is a pretty good number, as I think that if too many people sign up our individual works will not spend too long on the front page, which is a nice place to be.

I'm not going to reject anyone, but if you want to sign up for Mailart 365, I'd say get in sooner rather than later!
