What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

I'm with camel. No drugs, I figured out long ago if I get stuck in a loop or stressed, exercise. Burn out the body and mind while outside and usually the answer comes or the problem goes away. I love a good walkabout which is how this whole art thing took flight for me.

i do not believe in ADHD..

I feel that humans are evolving & our brains keep moving faster as a result of our technology.

The faster our computers can process - the faster our minds move...

remind me when it comes time to do the letter thing...

PostMuse: Safari has a programming glitch & sometimes displays things in it's native language...(programmers are in another country) so the display looks crazy when u do not have their language installed..uncommon error but it happens - try Chrome

Woo Hoo ... nudes :-O

The coffee is just kicking in and I have an idea.
How about I offer an incentive for at least one alphabet piece?
Our first mail art 365 electronic book?
Twenty eight quotes fronted by a mail art 365 piece.
Each quote starting with a different letter of the alphabet, quotes will be taken from those not working with the theme, illustrations from those who are. That way everybody has got a shot.
The only quote I am going to hog is the last one for the comma
"the best is yet to come," Frank Sinatra.

Yikes I already have February's theme sorted in my head, so will give alphabet February a miss. Looking forward to yours though

Dewi - when you say you miss some on your iphone, you may want to try the mobile version at http://mailart365.blogspot.com/?m=1

Only problem is that the comments system doesn't yet work with this version. I've asked Disqus to look into this and I hope they get on it soon.

Lucky me, no ADHD diagnosis when I was a child!  About the alphabet, I might be in, thining about it. My husband used to do a project with his illustration students, involving finding the alphabet in non-type, and photographing it. Like a shadow of something that makes a "k" or a tree limb that makes an "L" and so on. The students got brilliant results. They created a full alphabet using the best of their finds. I love these kinds of projects. Okay, so maybe I'm in. Okay, count me in. I'm in.

I agree Dewi High school art was terrible for me. I has no idea what they were going on about, and I remember my teacher trying to slow everything down too much. I wish I had learnt so many things when I was younger, but it's ok I picked up photography at 27 and mailart at 29.

I find these 2 media so wonderfully unrestrained. I find that photography makes me look around and with the digital SLR I can take 1000 pics if I want or slow it down but I can express myself and with mailart the medium is so flexible. Heck it's not even really a medium, you can just do whatever you like! PErfect for ADHD.

I had no idea so many of us hyper-active/creative types were here, but it's not really a surprise.

Andy, I take two drugs every day for my ADHD, and it slows down the thunderstorm in a tornado in a tsunami action of my brain enough that I can work without having to push a thousand other thoughts aside. With the drugs, I only have about 500 to push aside, which seems to be the right number.
