An artistamp (a portmanteau of the words "artist" and "stamp") or artist's stamp refers to a postage stamp-like artform. It is similar to a Cinderella stamp in that it is not valid for postage, but it differs from a forgery or a bogus stamp in that (typically) the creator has no intent to fool any post office or collector of stamps. (However, depending on how the stamp is used, it may be difficult to distinguish artistamps from local post stamps.) The artistamp is intended to be a miniature artwork which can depict or commemorate any subject its creator chooses.

Thank you! Those stamp sheets look like they would be great! My budget is pretty tight right now and I like making things myself so I can have more flexibility on what I can make into a stamp. These I made with small origami paper squares as a base. For my first ones I used rubber stamps on big office labels. And I just got some rolls of gold and silver metallic and hot pink contact paper (thank you $1 store) that I want to cut into little sticker stamps. I going to see what kind of stamping paint will stick to the plastic surface. oh, I am having waaaay too much fun!

The glue is super easy. I don't know how long it will keep, since you aren't supposed to put it in the fridge (according to the person who's recipe I modified, she said a few months). The original recipe was for envelope flaps and was for twice as much. If anyone wants that link just email me.

Licky Glue:

1 - 3oz. box Lemon Jello
2 - Knox Gelatin packets
1 cup vinegar
Lemon Extract (hope this adds more preserving power)

Bring vinegar to boil, stir in Jello and gelatin until dissolved. Don't put your face over that pot, you don't want to inhale a nose full of hot vinegar vapors.

I put it in a glass jar so that if it solidfied (cold in the house) then I could just put it on mug warmer to melt it.

I don't care so much, but found a carageenan based jello and tried it and it did not work, so there may not be a way to make this vegetarian.

So far with a sponge brush on most paper it curls a bit but doesn't get wrinkly and once it is dry i just press under a book for a bit and its back to normal. Then just perforate/cut, lick and stick!

This has become totally addicting. I just made a commemorative stamp for my roomate getting a new job. And I now have a licky glue recipe I'm happy with.
