Hi there Rod,

Well finally joined up to keep tabs on what you are doing.
As I said before your pictures are amazing.
You should publish a book with these pictures and some comment added in "Rod style". I'm sure it would sell.
What a wonderful surprise for you to find that Vittore had all your work put together in a collage on the wall. He sounds like a very nice person.
By know you will be back in Venice. How is the other work coming along? And keep posting Pictures.

Must have felt like a warm welcome with such a surprise exhibition. Tells a lot of what kind of person Vittore is. Thanks for sharing the photos...!

Vittore has let me use his computer to add a small selection of today's photos from Viareggio. Spring is definately in the air, it was even quite warm as, in 5 minutes, I wandered down to the sea front, you will notice from the photos however that there were no bikinis on the beach today. Viareggio has a charm all of it's own and many of the houses that face the promenade are beautiful.

Hail Ruud, Yes I arrived yesterday afternoon and apart from a frustrating hour trying to get Alice to let me ride her wavelength the talk has been non-stop and intense about mail art and music. Last night we went out for a pizza and then for a short walk along the promenade where we saw formations of happy drunken fellows riding haphazardly around on bicycles which had ever-green branches of trees tied to the back of them. The weather remains fine so later today I will take the camera for a walk in VIAREGGIO. I am now sat at Vittore's computer in the room which contains his incredible record and CD collection from ceiling to floor on three of the walls. Vittore has made a series of collages of the work I have sent him over the last 35 years and has them framed and hanging in the living room for the occasion of my visit, and you know? I had completely forgotten a lot of the material hanging there but seeing it brought back all the stories behind the images.

Aha, you are in Via Reggio!

The picture is Vittore but this is Rod typing.
Why you might ask? Well Vittore's ISP is Alice and for some reason Alice won't let me connect to Vittore's network... so no blog until I am back on Monday. Have a good weekend! rod
