Thank you for your fairy story which arrived yesterday :-) I ensured all the cats were settled as there are no children and began to read. They were enthralled :-))

Thank you, Val, for the image of the Angel of the North. I did look it up, but i could not scan an image of it to our Postal discussion. From far away it must look like a cross? a windmill with only two arms? It is HUGE!Delete Comment

Connect the dots between the Johns and Burbank/NYC...

I met John Evans in 1987 at a gathering Lon Speiglman hosted here in Los Angeles.

We continue to get together whenever I go to New York and he to LA.

Our next visit June 13 - 18 in NYC.

The fake collage project started in 2006 and oh boy is he amused.

That is the Angel of the North!

And it is a HUGE sculpture...beautiful.

From afar, it has a wing-span like a windmill up on a hill perhaps?

Numbers??? I don't get that. Some ideas: the meaning of life according to one's self; a retrospective about toilet paper from different countries  from a cultural/anthropological viewpoint;  spreading of global goodwill; inventing a progressive tale with or without words; or do we want it to be a lighter topic?cheryl h.

Wait, I don't see my message. Je repète, would it make any sense to arrange the order of participants according to the country they live in?

I like the idea of you starting the first piece of the art conversation.

Phew, I had to spit that out fast.....okay slow directions: here is a picture of one side removed. Cut through only the tape and it will slide apart.Let me know how the event went!

I am so glad I am still getting entertainment from the "tube", perhaps you will find the best part about it has been this excitement over opening it!

Gosh I hope I have caught you in time!!!! Gently slice the tape around the center, it comes apart in the middle and slides open

Dearest Valentine, so glad you are at home with your hairy friends and your fresh box of mail! I should let you know I adore my TP and wrapping paper and the lovely stamp that brought them here! You are dreamy!

Yes, I am the sender of the "tube", I am certainly hoping it has met with you in it's proper form, was there no legible reference to my moniker? So sad!

Then let me take this opportunity to say here...."... a splendid old tube from Fred's garage that he abandoned the day I went to take care of him. Well....he died and left me there with his things. I found the tube in the garage with it's special label and an awful smell that led me to believe that, Fred, he had meddled with chemistry! After a bit of cleaning I began to think; I like Val so well with his hat, I think it should go to him."

More of Fred's things found their way to me, a rolled up, safely kept ,sheet of paper, many sheets of paper, bound with ribbon. An odd paper almost like waxy, or true parchment. It must be special as it was at the very back of his bedroom filing cabinet along with a small book titled "The Specialist".Which I decided to turn into an address book. But I used the paper for the monarch.

Then, subject to the idea of monarchy, that which is foreign to me, I put my objects together, which required an ale. So the birth of the tube;

What is a monarch? A butterfly.

What supports a monarch? A podium.

Well what in the world does a monarch support? "THE QUEEN'S KNEECAPS", or they should anyway.

All this stuffed and stacked in order of monarchy into a little tube.

It was much fun and thank you for the inspiration!

Yours,

Kitty

Hi Val! Thanks so much for the Royal Mail!! I loved it and it is so generous of you! I laughed and laughed! I really didn't know that the British had such a sense of humor sometimes.

As for the Purple with Orange, haven't we already used both your chosen colors? Ah, well, no matter. I'll let it go--this time. This would mainly be because that happens to be one of my favorite color combos of all time. Believe it or not, I enjoy that pairing. This will give me another crack at playing around with the colors I like, so you're lucky! This time, anyway.

LOL! You character! So glad it got to you in one piece--and so quickly, as well! It's been only 5 days, from my reckoning. That's a new wind speed record! Maybe they shipped it via the Concord!

O la-la! That rose' idea of yours sounds delightful! Too bad you won't be able to make it to the States for Easter, but at least we can mail things back and forth.

Happy Eastertide to you from all of us Possum Affiliates here and around the U.S. !!!!

Sincerely,

2 Cadbury Cream Eggs with a side of Lemon Sponge Cake

P.S. Your next two color choices, please? And no fun repeating! The past is over. Let's move on!

;)
