I'm glad that you liked it. It was a bit of a stylistic experiment on my part. Look forward to seeing what you send back - your work is always awesome.
Oh, my, I just saw that i sent you that THIRD "Windmills" on April 8th! and we have a photo proving the postage was more than enough= 3.10 euro! Easter holiday delays? Possible...but I hope it arrives tomorrow! Otherwise, Cheryl, if there is no sign of it next week, I shall make another and take it to an express courier rather than the Greek Post. ;-(
Thanks for doing "M" at P26, i made a nice "blue" chapter, even tracing paper added! Maybe we can print out Litsa's posted images of "O" and make a temporary chapter...unless it arrives tomorrow! duh!
Are you having a horrid storm?...and therefore shutting off computer? Be careful! I did delete the old "discussion" for "U", but I copied it and blogged it...just in case someone wants to see the sequence, etc.
However, the NEW discussion is a page-by-page view...hopefully better for those who need to print out?
I received the 2 linescapes you sent me, & haven't ben able to stop admiring them since! Once I catch up on those I already owe pieces to I'll send you another. =)
Mark the Mark...Staffordmarks arrived today...brava, Cheryl....I'll blog tomorrow but wanted to thank you today....Patti and I are still taking turns at being sick...so we're still behind the eightball of health but when I bounce back....if I bounce back...watch out....there's an asemic trashpo ATC with your name on it or maybe a stab stitch book with stake in its heart headed your way...you never know....
Thank you, Cheryl! This latest "ZALOP, Sewn Asemics" mail art that you sent is AMAZING! ;-) It is blogged! And it was such a joy to receive it, last mail delivery day for a while...This is a beauty! Thanks xxx
Just packing one clean pair of socks as Liz and me are going bird-watching with Ever Arts for the weekend... very relieved to step back for a couple of days... but I will, of course, be taking photos of the superbly flat Zeeland landscape. tot strax.
And I forgot to say you are welcome. Please forgive my typos. I am just the worlds worst typist and I haven't yet found the spell check............ Oh well......
Thanks for the reminder regarding the VG parties. I have attended birthday parties for Van Gogh; hosted by a painter/gallery owner and had so much fun.
It's actually a collabrative group painting affair.
He starts with a hugh canvas, does a very loose sketch, (of whichever Van Gogh we are going to try to copy) lays out brushes & piles of paint, a bucket to rinse the brushes, towels, etc. This is all done before the guests arrive. The party gets underway with people just mingling, eating, drinking, socializing, looking at the gallery art, previous Van Gogh copies, until someone picks up a brush and makes that first tentative mark.
The rest of the evening is spent with ever changing groups, standing in front of the canvas, dicussing the painting, gaining courage, then stepping forward and making their mark. The times I have been included there was a mix of artists, friends, students, and collectors, so not everyone is schooled in the actual "making of art", but everyone knows and is interested in art. There is also a copy of what we are going to paint, positioned next to the working canvas. That is very helpful with the color mixing and just getting things right. The times I have been there, the group did very well.
After the party is over, the host (who is a well respected & talented gentleman) makes any needed corrections. It is then hung in the gallery at the next birthday party, along with VG's from previous parties.
Thanks for reminding me. Knowing you have an interest in collabrative work and like Van Gogh, I thought you would like to hear about it. It makes a great party!
And of course it helps to have gracious hosts and congenial guests.
I thought you would have more use for the map book than me! Its wonderful hey, I love the retro images. Another SPCA treasure. The last mail you sent me was the undulating landscape, so I need to send you something, will do so shortly, I am in that awful noncreative slump at the moment, so have been cleaning out my studio hoping that some creative juices start to flow.
