Hurled here by De Villo Sloan, Overlook Hotel, USA--MinXkit of MinXus Relics

because Marie Wintzer would want me to have them, he says, she of the disenchanted with anti-art now longing for a movement to anything she wants it to be:

What is MinXus-LynXus?? What is this kit all about? A mix of movements sprouting from other movements like ancient Greek gods being born out of the necks and thighs of other Greek gods? What transpires remains transient. Perhaps De Villo's kit best represents some five stages often witnessed here at IUOMA:

1) unenlightened artist

2) enlightened

3) return to unenlightened artist

4) unenlightened artist attained by everyone

5) unenlightened artist attained by a very few

Bob Dylan was once asked in an interview, "do you find that most things come from within?" and he answered, "most things come from taking chances."

For isn't it in that moment of angst, dissatisfaction, contrast, being unenlightened, and longing for amusement that some great chances are taken? The greatest things then being born: the refrigerator performances, the Trashpo All Stars Series, and the Solar Disk Festival. Thanks, De Villo. This kit is wonderful and, as always, I appreciate the nod to Haptic Poetry. Cheers.

Erni, I'll bet you did not send a piece to the Maciunas show. If the title had been : "DaDa Never Ends," you would have been right there.

I was thrilled too to be able to be in that show, which Keith curated. He made sure mail-artists weren't left out of the loop, which could have happened as the artworld wagons have circled around Maciunas (now that a whole room at MOMA is basically devoted to him).

When the coverage came out last fall, it was exciting. Yip, Kat's work was displayed very prominently in one of the performances. Great stuff!

Thanks for all the kind words everybody. So sorry to hear about Keith--I remember how excited I was to send him our Haptic Newspaper titled "National Garden of Chairs" for the George Maciunas and Beyond: Fluxus Never Stops event in Lithuania. If I remember right, Katerina's piece was at the front of the parade.

Strange you brought that up, Marie. "Minxus never sleeps" is stolen from one of the slogans accompanying a whole slew of Fluxus events around the world during the last year: "Fluxus never stops." It includes the Maciunas show in Lithuania & the Chicago Flux Fest.

Keith Bukhholz just poured energy into making those and other events happen. And I read on Open Fluxus he had a heart attack. He is OK and recovering. But send positive energy Keith's way. He does so much for mail-art & Fluxus, and geez... Well, we want him with is for a long time & so we can keep getting more great art from him too.

Bifidus's stirring prose has been reported on M-L:

MinXus never sleeps. I forgot who said that.

The sun never sets upon MinXus.

Glad you made it to catch the sunset, Marie. Bifidus indeed seems even more inspired than usual in the writing. Maybe he has given you some new ideas for what MinXus can be.
