(note: transparency here, this is a project of our son and daughter's business.)

The UCI world races begin tomorrow in Richmond, VA, USA.
The Mail Art that was submitted has been installed at Rostov's Coffee and Tea shop, on the street where there'll be lots of activity around the main race circuit.
The folks at the venue installed it in the window and inside the shop, and sent this first photo. I'll go by there and take more to post. This is…

I'm getting caught up on scanning the entries to the Bicycle Mail art call and exhibit. Still more to post and more arriving. YAY! I met with the folks at Rostov's Coffee and Tea where the work will be exhibited. We planned the display. It's all very exciting.
So this morning, I figured out how to get the important info - the what and how part - on the Bicycle blog. "duh" kids used to say! Finally. This came about because I was at my Spanish conversation group and someone wanted to…

Look what I got from Ryosuke Cohen for the Bicycles exhibit. There must be a bicycle in there somewhere, or the concept of one, right? I'm delighted that he took the time to send me Brain Cell #915! Who wouldn't be?

I've been getting some terrific entries for the Bicycle Mail Art call. It's still early but never to early to get your entry, as many as you'd like, to me.
Here's one that was sent by Richard Baudet.
I've posted entries on the blog Http://bicyclesrva2015.blogspot.com so you can see what's come in.
Information on entering is at the scroll down end of the blog or here on IUOMA.…

If you live near Nowra NSW, Australia, check out the event that I'm participating in for MIcro-Galleries. My work will be there, but, sadly, I won't. Check it out HERE.

From September 19 to 27, 2015, Richmond, Virginia, USA, will host an amazing event for bicyclists. The cyclists will come from all over the world. I'm very excited about this. The prediction is that we'll have 450,000 visitors to our small city during that time. Read about it HERE.
So,…

I'm going to be hosting a Slow Art Day event again this year, on 11 April. Again, I'll be using the Virginia Museum of Fine Art as my venue. I've chosen 5 pieces of art for people to spend an hour looking at. If you haven't heard of this event before, check out the web site. There may be a venue near you. It's quite fun to participate. Look…

We woke up to more of a winter wonderland today. Full stop! We go no where, there's no where to go. Crazy southern city doesn't handle snow well, but I'm
okay with that, as I have a cold.
The fun thing - I received some winter poems from L. Hensley last week, in a tiny envelope, stamp placement out of the usual, uncancelled, so I have no clue when these…

I have no intercountry stamps! Used them all and after a couple of shut in days, I slipped over to the post office and THEY were out of intercountry stamps. Grrrrr. We've had a harsh few days with snow and severe cold. We're not prepared for this. We don't have a lot of snow removal equipment, and personally, in order to stay warm we have to layer and layer and layer on the…

I used today, a stay in the house cause it snowed and that stops everything in my little city kinda day, to go through mail that I'd received and hadn't responded to properly. I was so happy to get lots re-looked at and mail to go out in the post. The post, however, will NOT be picked up as snow stops my letter carrier from appointed rounds. Anyway, as I was going through the…

This photo has nothing to do with the upcoming bicycle race, except that the race will take place outdoors, and there'll be trees.
Richmond, VA, USA, has been chosen to host the 2015 UCI World championships. This is the only place it'll ever be in the USA, so to say we're excited is to put it mildly. I'm SO excited. Parts of the course will be very close to my home,…

I don't celebrate Christmas, but it's a good time to connect with the season of good cheer, goodwill, thoughts for a peaceful world, and so I'm getting ready with some Mail Art.

Getting ready for Banana day!
I was looking for my banana stamp and came across my old rubber stamping book. Many times I've pulled this off of my shelf thinking I'd get rid of it, then I look through it and am reminded of the wonderful-ness of rubber stamping. The book is full of history and examples of artists' work, and more. I'm going to…

It's time to catch up on sending out Mail Art to people who've so generously sent me mail. I have a container on my studio table where I put that mail. Today, going through it, I came across my last mail from Guido. It arrived in August. I hadn't opened it. Why, I can't remember. Opening it today was bitter sweet - happy to have it, sad he's not going to be sending anything any…
