Received MA - Chantal Tahiti/ Le Petit Piquey

Petit Piquey (France) sends me a Picasso Fish - an oversized postcard with the Chantal Tahiti MA stamp. Gorgeous large art piece with bold use of color throughout. French stamps are colorfully aligned along the bottom and provide a great contrast against the hand…

Many thanks to Marie in Virginia, USA for this assemblage postcard complete with string attachments and colored additions. Hand torn and cut cardboard base with gorgeous 2 cent stamp. Work speaks to working with hands, fear, order/disorder and design. Still…

Received MA - PJM

Strangeness continues from PJM. Movie stills in stamp format with cryptic quote on front. Personal note with star, Cinderella and date/time/ weather enclosure. PJM's world is a unique and wonderfully weird one. Always enjoy getting work from PJM. Many…

Received: Mail-art from conceptual artist Ptrzia TICTAC (Starnberg, Germany)

September 23, 2010: Ptrzia (TICTAC) sent me a wonderful package reflecting her identity as a a conceptual artist, and I feel a real affinity for what she is doing. I'm just finishing reading "Fluxus Experience" by Hannah Higgins (University of California Press 2002). I picked this book because Higgins is the daughter of Alison Knowles and Dick Higgins: two…

Received from Julian Grant, USA

love the feel of the shipping tape over the black and white stamps

Reconstructed street scene becomes an allegory for man's attempt to balance/control urban sprawl? I like to run my hand across the cut-up photo pieces just for the feel of it. There's also an illegible line of writing at the bottom of the page which my scanner did not pick up. What…

Received MA - Karen Champlin (Illinois) - MANY THX!!!

ART NATION - Karen Champlin has sent me another signature piece bound in thread and full of partial images and textural detail. The continuing themes of isolation, restriction and blood abound - with the stamp "BOY" added. Who is this child? He appears happy but…

Sir Erni sent me a Gift

Well I tried to scan it but didn't come out. Erni made this wonderful assemblage box for me. It has the Erni trademark bright colors. He gets his green and yellow by inserting a sponge in the box. It goes on like that. In the box is a cut out statement "Karmic Management". Also "Lost in Repression?...just control yourself". HE even sent along candy for me to eat while I'm looking at it. What a friend you are Erni....Thank you! Oh yeah, is Grigori with you?

Received MA - Elke Grundmann (Germany) - Danke!

Long overdue on posting this. So sorry, Elke. Got put in a different folder. EG is an artist whose work continues to facinate me. Her assemblages and typographic desconstructions are quite enigmatic and I do recommend seeking out her posted work.…
