Sacrificial Artifact - Karen Champlin - U.S.A

I have had to wait so long for this.  If ever, in a hundred years, THEY dig in my cupboards, THEY will know that this is a genuine artifact.  Its asemic, poetic and authentic. Its Karen of course. Wrapping cardboard daggers in red thread, pasting  onto paper slabs. And the back says, Happy Birthday.

K.C. - SO great to see you again :-)…

The Ether. Marie Wintzer - Japan

I wonder if the Ether is like Camelot? I dont know, in the half light I thought I heard Lord Tennyson. The faintest of echoes in a winter sky.

"There she weaves by night and day

A magic web with colours -grey-

She has heard a whisper say,

A curse is on her if she stay

To look down to Camelot"

Like Free Falling I guess.

She tries…

Theresa Williams's artwork that led her to an epistolary poem

Here is the art (but not the poem):

This is such a thought-provoking, mysterious, and visually appealing piece, by itself;  and here is a postcard she included that is related to the art and its concerns (and also to the epistolary poem I'm not at liberty to post because Theresa is having some accepted and some still considered for publication):

Miminal Mim Minimal Min

I have been eyeing these works of Mim on IUOMA thinking how much I like them and now I have one all to myself, my first offering from Mim. The fat graphic line jags across the quiet little collage giving it a nice drawn asemic feel.... Thankyou Mim!

Marni Zainodin's green watercolour

This card from Marni has a delicate tracery of bright acid green, with an image of a colonial looking building and drawing of flowers, it looks very tropically Malaysian! The words are from Marni's favourite author Haruki Murakami - "It's hard to tell the difference between sea and sky, between voyager and sea. Between the reality and the workings of the heart." Heart matters! Earlier this week I received another acid green work from Guido so it's been a very GREEN week...…

My first mail art from Nancy and what a treasure! A little booklet FULL TO BURSTING with stamps, painting, and medical documents all held together with safety pins...and covered with Nancy's spidery scrawly handwriting. "Fragile" is stamped all over the Maine medical centre documents - hope that doesnt refer to our Nancy! I am very chuffed to be the owner of this great little book.... Thanks Nancy!…

When I saw Nancy's work featuring on several blogs I was hoping to receive something from her, and I didn't have to wait for a very long time, her first envelope arrived this week, lucky me.

Nancy dug up an old box full of of antique print blocks and stamps from her attic, check out her blog if you haven't seen it yet, it is very impressive. She started to use and…
