Rebecca tends to go to see her family in summer, somewhere in the Americas, I think Canada. I really cannot join FB, it is against my religion. the other night I had a nightmare about this, really. The Holy Trashpro was about to burn me for heretic. I woke up sitting in bed pouring over my head the glass of water I have on the night table. 

By the way, what's a bothy?

Marth a-if you don't make a fuckbook acct soon i'm gonna make a fake one of you!!!  and you never know WHAT i will have you say and do:)  JK kinda. learned more about the peeps project. wonder where Jack gets his pretend peepsles..   Rebecca has been noticeably absent as of late maybe DKULT UK has retreated to the bothy?

Martha, the IUOMA roster currently lists 241 mail artists in the UK who are members. And, of course, the overall mail art community is much, much larger than IUOMA.

DKULTUK is relatively large, if you factor in all the mail artists who have attempted Trashpo. I'm not prepared to dig into that at the moment, but there are more than you name. We have, for instance, people such as Emily Cole - not active online but very talented.

True, now in Britain the only trashpoets I know are Gina and Rebecca. The other day I received a very nice non trashy card from Witchelm, a new friend to me. And there are of course Going Postal and Stripygoose with whom I meet from time to time, not too trashy yet but they will come round I think.

There was a time when mail art was thriving in Britain, before IUOMA went on line. Michael Leigh, Michael Lumb, Chris Bates, Alan Turner and many, many others with whom I have lost contact. We used to do projects and shows. May be this branch is still ticking over, just that I do not get their post. Michael L is in IUOMA and Alan is allergic to electronic anything but we keep in touch by snail mail. One characterstic of all the people I used to correspond with is their lack of empathy with trash. I sometimes think I should contact them and invite them to show in the FDG but the success of the said gallery stops me. I can hardly cope with the post I get and will soon  have to rent the neighbours' doors. Also they may have moved. 

I like the slogan Trashpo Saves! You should do something with it.

Martha, that is my first thought that the LCS should form an allegiance to DKULTUK and you, I guess.

I could only dream of m-a being so popular in Britain that - like "bikers" over here - people walk in the street with leather jackets proclaiming their affiliations: "LCS Rulz" or "Trashpo Saves." But then these rivalries can get out of hand, which is part of my concern.

You should be pleased so much is happening in Britain.

I just try to sound culturni, that is Russian, if James Bond can be believed, which goes to show...something.

The LCS, you are right, should be widely recognized, I wonder why I never had heard of it. When you answer them/him/her please tell them about DKult UK, The Cult You Can Trash. We are recruting now, it is the right time for it as in the wake of the disatrous elections results disenchanted opposition supporters of every colour are looking for new causes with which to engage.

Martha, "Litterature" is indeed the preferred DKult spelling and "vitae" - haven't seen that spg. in a long time.

Anyway, Hal McGee - in Florida, USA - an underground music guy & longtime mail artist - reports receiving from the Liverpool Correspondance School. Identities (or identity) still cloudy.

The LCS should certainly have an IUOMA group or a place inside the British mail art group.

This all proves that the less you speak the more others will speak about you (or something).

Thanks DKult and also thanks to Cascadia for endorsing my application! I am so happy that my de-brooming did not count deletoriuosly in my Curriculum Vitae. I  promise that I will work hard at the polishing, although I keep thinking that the rust should be preserved and not taken away but what do I know? Perhaps after obtaining my diploma in Deity Polishing I shall understand better. I shall not presume, not after my mishap with the witches in the ditches.

At the moment I am applying myself to the study of a hefty document I received by post today, the pathos-bathos-ethos ( I never could understand what these words mean so I  use them all at the same time, at least one should fit) of which is such that surely it will win the authors a joined Nobel Prize in (Litter)ature. I am grateful to the sender, this will help me in my studies.
