The TrashPo-Litzer Prize - Landfill of Fame

Mail-artists are making astonishing breakthroughs in Trashpo. The Trash Po-litzer Prize (based on the idea of the Pulitzer Prize) can be awarded by anyone to anyone else (even yourself) at any time. Please post scans and the name of the artist in this thread. They become the recipient of a Trash Po-litzer Prize. Over time, we can have a gallery of historic Trashpo based on the work and contributions posted here. ("The Committee" - a panel of international Trashpo experts - will review nominations and officially announce recipients. There have been some unusual cases involving TrashPo-litical Correctness.)

 

I award the first Trash Po-Litzer Prize to Erni Baer of Hamburg, Germany for his ground-breaking work with crushed cans. The Ling-do can created a sensation at IUOMA in 2010. At the time, Erni was not aware that Trashpo had been invented in the U.S. by Jim Leftwich. Erni's crushed Lingdo can inspired new generations to jump into the dumpster. Many of his disciples are distinguished Trashpo artists today. Without further commentary, I present to you the astonishing and marvelous "Ling-do" by Erni Baer. It has been noted that the immortal lines inscribed on the can - "Fuck sausages!" - is one of the most significant contributions to 21st century literature this far:

 

 

I award a Trash Po-litzer Prize to Diane Keys (DK) for the "Pork Series." This brought Trashpo off the street and into the supermarket. "Pork Series" built an important bridge to biopoetry, meat poetry, and the recognition that shopping lists are one of the highest forms of art in the 21st century. Bravo DK!

 

 

I award a Trash Po-litzer Prize to Richard Canard (although he will probably decline it) for (accidentally) creating a revival of Cerealism in the eternal network. By carelessly scrawling some Xs (see below) on a torn cereal box, he aligned Fluxus, Cerealism, and Trashpo. A truly astonishing accomplishment worthy of documentation in the venerable Halls of Trashpo. Richard Canard's outstanding contribution to Trashpo:

My nomination for Trash-po=litzer Prize goes to Angie Cope for her synthetic cheese trashpo. She walked by this piece of cheese on the sidewalk day after day when she finally heeded her inner voice telling her she must pick it up and send it to me. Picturing her stamping on the cheese itself is pure genius and it definately made it art. It has yet to decompose all these months later. It is eternal.
