Thanks for the explanation of the found word "ULU" - yes, I do remember the tool definition of the word now that you have posted examples. In particular, we were taught in school an ulu was a tool used by the "Eskimos" of Alaska, is also used in archaeology a great deal to describe prehistoric tools. ULU has a wonderful symmetry in terms of the letters, not unlike IUOMA. Interesting what Da Da yields, yes.

Fascinating explanation ULUDAG. We know relatively much of the Kurds here and they are generally seen as a long-suffering and heroic people. "Soda" (pop. soft drink) without caffeine? We are now seeing a new generation of "energy drinks" that have incredibly high concentrations of caffeine and vitamins that are to some degree replacing soft drinks.

The Trashpo - the language piece of Erni's work - seems to be the presentation of the word ULU that results from the fold of the can. It's a nice word even if it means nothing. But does ULU mean something as a word - Kat mentioned Great Mountain.

ULUDAG is the "Great Mountain" seen across the Sea of Marmara from Istanbul, and Topkapi Palace. It is snow capped and now a great ski resort, but i ancient times it was known as the "Mt. Olympus" of Asia minor. Fresh water springs are well known, and that drink is somewhat like 7-Up or Mountain Dew (without the kick of caffeine).

Lots and lots of Turks/Turkish speakers in Germany....me thinks Berlin is the third largest Turkish city after Istanbul and Ankara?
