Victorian DaDa

Victorian DaDa

DeVillo Sloan inspired me to start this group, and I'd like help defining it, and would love to see other examples besides my own.

This group is dedicated to mail art, perhaps with a time period theme (Pre-Raphaelite, Flapper, Byzantine, Edwardian, even modern day) of an elegant nature spiked with a Dada / Surreal twist.

Elements can be added as creatively as the artist would like.... Or taken out. Nature is prevalent due to the Romantic floral effect and poetry (often cut & paste) is incorporated. An arm or leg can be truncated and repositioned. Woo Hoo!

Or anything you feel like.

Thank you, and hope to see you here!

I'm really enjoying using different textures in my art at the moment so apparently this is spilling over into my Victorian Dada style --- here is my latest ATC and my desk is a mess. I hate it when you put the gesso lid on crooked and it dries that way. &%^!

Also, I still can't define Victorian Dada. I don't mind either. I enjoy making stuff. :)  Making things and giving them to other people makes me happier by far than giving a name to what I'm doing. But thanks so much for sharing your art, everyone. :D Just a few thoughts from me for now. x

carl baker --- thank you for sharing all this wonderful art, and yes, Mim Golub --- I'd checked this group a couple of times here or there while I was away and I have been well, thank you :)

Thanks to everyone who has kept this group going while I've been gone to wherever it is that I go . . . . :) Xx Thank you very much. You're appreciated.
