ok, so we live in a city with a very definitive class split.
west side and east side; with very noticable differences
between the west side where there is a lot more
"higher class" folks and the east side which is far less
"refined," but even further than that, there is the east
side and the south east side. we happen to live in the
south east side, which is something of a dumping ground
for the poor, the folks that have housing assistance,
the welfare types.
and thinking more about social paranoias,
and also more recently about the class divide,
i thought i could combine the two here,
and bring up the social paranoia of the lower class.
i think, among the middle -> upper class
there is a strong fear of the lower classes
encroaching in upon their territory; their turf.
it is especially prevalent when it comes to their
children and their children's schooling.
people are afraid to put their children
with the children of the lower class.
i think this sort of fear of the lower class
could definitely be mapped onto zombies,
especially with the economy as it is;
and we are talking about taking away many
of their social programs, which they use
to keep themselves afloat. what will happen
if we take away what little they have?
my 2c on a sunday morning. ;-D
