I may be violating a IUOMA policy here but I think it's important for people to realize that the forces of darkness are once again trying to privatize our Postal System, widely regarded as one of America's proudest achievements for a wide variety of reasons.

Check out this paper from In The Public Interest and then consider writing a letter to these Senators: Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Doug Jones (D-AL), Joe Manchin (D-WV), Gary Peters (D-MI), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Tina Smith (D-MN), Dan Sullivan (R-AK), Mark Warner (D-VA), and Roger Wicker (R-MS) urging them to vote YES on H.R. 6800.

Apologies for breaking the law but this is a time to do something to save our Postal System.

Apologies also if this is a redundant plea.

Seems important enough to repeat....

your friend, Dave

Thanks for reminding us, this isn't over yet, Amy.

Received this email today:

Hello! Thank you once again for signing the petition calling upon the United States Postal Service Board of Governors to fire Postmaster General DeJoy.

Thanks to the dedication of postal workers across the country, more than 65 million Americans were able to successfully cast their votes by mail for Election Day. Postal workers put in long hours, did special sweeps of facilities and made extra deliveries to make sure our votes were delivered.

But, now that the election is over DeJoy plans to resume his disastrous policies that created delays and chaos this summer and fall. Which is why there’s a national day of action tomorrow, November 17th, led by the American Postal Workers Union, to call for a thriving, public Postal Service.

Here’s how you can participate:

A strong Postal Service is crucial to a healthy democracy. Not just during elections, but all the time. The dedication of postal workers kept mail ballots moving through Election Day, but the Postal Service’s finances are still devastated by COVID. The House has passed $25 billion in COVID relief twice, this administration refused to deliver that aid before the election.

Join us November 17 to demand funding and reverse DeJoy’s delays.

Thanks,

–Patrick

Good on ya, Mim. (This is an Australian expression brought on from watching entirely too many of the  criterion collection's Aussie New Wave). We've a hidden power when we act in concert. It's like a superpower that can only be deployed collectively.

Thank you David. I've posted on Facebook to every mail art group that I'm part of. It's now over yet. But we must keep up the pressure. I wrote a nice-ish not to him at his residence in NC. I showed it on social media - the address. He probably won't receive it and if he does he won't read it, and if he reads it, he won't care. Such POS, excuse my abbreviation. Let's keep it up. Thank you again.  In solidarity, Mim, Richmond, VA

Damn. Celebrating too soon has always been my tragic flaw.

Looks like our cards did the trick. You see, mail art really can make a difference in this crazy, mixed up world. Big wads of cash is probably still faster but as we all know from the fable, it's the snail who wins the race against hideous alien. Eventually....down the road...in a little while...
