Thank you to everyone who sent in art for this project. I'm sorry if I forgot to include names of contributors. I did my best.

Maybe DKult could raise support for the homeless if the cardboard boxes could be used as moveable art displays or some of the artists made this kind of installation.
Portable confessional booth, love it. Wonder if they still so those Drive-in church services at the old Drive-in movie lots? Will give this some thought. Are you thinking trashpo related?
I took apart an old TV and removed the tube/screen. Wrote on it "i never get to watch what i want to watch'. Sat it on a pedestal, (gallery) and left a marker next to it. People wrote their favorite shows on the screen. It was covered with titles by the end of the exhibit. Hauled this thing around with me for years, move after move.

I want to do something like this but don't know how as I wouldn't be doing it with video and it needs to in some way be specific to Elgin
Nancyfunny you should say that. The woman who helped me put the show together let me know grants money is available, so I need to come up with a new project. I want it to be interactive but not sure what to do at this point. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated!!!
XO
The garbage truck was destiny.
Can't wait to see the clueless article. Somehow it seems appropriate. It also means more trashpo shows are needed in Elgin, so start your planning today.
The garbage truck pulling up right at that moment was serendipitous--or would that be ironic? The video choreographed itself with the help of the trashpo Gods and Goddesses. The music was intended to lull the viewer into an altered state for DKult programming. I don't know if it worked or not, but the local paper (that covered the Tinkler story) called to do a short story on the show. I don't know what she will write because she seemed completely clueless about the whole thing. At one point she said, "What would you say to people that would look at it and see it was made of trash and think it was gross?"
I'm with you Not Hi Ng, OTM. DK never lets us down, ever.
Those stark piano blues are incredible. How did she find that? Chicago in winter & the great work of the Trash poets. It's like the work of the great Russian novelists. And the garbage trucks - does anyone get Chicago? as Carl Sandburg famously wrote: "hog butcher of the world"?
Chicago is, in fact, the murder capitol of the US right now. DK represents a social realism juxtaposed with the work of artists from around the globe. And is it possible that art can ultimately heal? Trashpo saves! She takes it right to City Hall, which happens to be the center of Obama's political machine - the Chicago area. I think that's great. It is a message of salvation that includes Trashpo Jesus Jim Leftwich himself.
& really, DK out does Godard with the jump cuts in the editing.
A masterpiece. Seriously
Wonder film! Destined to become a DKult Klassic. Accolades are well deserved.
You find more every time you view it. Genius.
Agree. Agree! great winter realism with coughing included in score. Brilliant. I am sooooo honored to be associated with such brilliance.
