A beautiful card from Carina made my heart skip a beat. It is a photo transfer - I am still mystified as to how this is done - and a wonderful juxtaposition of what looks like a Chinese factory worker making what - orange rugs? opposed to a bunch of white men in suits in what could be courtroom. They are looking at something or somebody outside the frame. I love the colours and the texture and the drama and mystery all rolled into one postcard! Thank you, Carina for you lovely welcome!

Thanks for blogging xx jones, glad you liked my transfer!
Always a pleasure to read your comments and thoughts guys! I work intuitively and do not always see what is happening. Meaning-making, making-meaning, very nice. Thank you :)
She always has the technique AND the concept. And it always looks fantastic. Really great piece.
Wops, meant Thierry Tellier. He hosted a Fluxus-Anti-Art-Mail-Art show that had work by Yoma folks last year.
Alicia, that's why I am excited about this piece by Miss Carina & a tad envious of XXX jones.
Thierry Tillier in Belgium - alas not a Yoma member - has made IMHO an impressive career pretty much with this two-mage juxtapo process.
It's the nature of language and sign systems: you put two images together, even random, and the viewer starts making associations between the two. We are meaning-making creatures.
You're seeing some kind of political/economic allegory in it. Who knows what Carina thought? Who knows what someone else might see?
Peachy, I think.
DVS, thank you for your comment. I love textiles, rugs, embroidery. It is a beautiful piece.
xx jones, I am a big Carina fan & have many pieces from her. I know she uses a photo transfer technique to get those textures.
This piece you have is absolutely exceptional with the juxtaposition of just two images.
In recent m-a she sent me, she made a reference to Kilim carpets, which are amazing in terms of design & craft. I'm wondering if Carina has some interest in textiles for inspiration.
yes, it could also be a kind of parliamentary debate going on ...
Amazing! In England there is lots of talk about educating for industry (AGAIN). For me, you've captured that here.
