Hi Richard,

My art is intentionally ambiguous. Some will see it as insulting to Douglas MaCarthur and complimentary to Xi or vice versa. 

To me, it is my answer to Magritte's Treachery of Images, but not intended to refute. Much of modern art is disconnected from our day-to-day reality. There is no "Treachery" in my symbol of a specific pipe, which carries more implications than an actual pipe. 

Locally, I am seeing an increase in military exercises in preparations for invasion. I have no 'inside' information. Some in the US military report increased concerns, which influence my perception.

Is President Xi Jinping the next equivalent to General Douglas MacArthur in terms of the Pacific?...& is Taiwan or Alaska or Hawaii the next Phillipines???...Given your locale & insight---  I, for one, am inclined to suspect you know what's going on.
