Long live Trashpo all you DKulters! Many thanks to the artists whose work graces this issue.
Like all tabloid journalism, there is a grain of truth to the "DK says 'I Dated A Dead Guy'" Article." Diane did post a comment like that somewhere here at the IUOMA and never explained it. So the Fanzine did.
Rumors that Ray Johnson is actually still alive really do circulate in some sectors of mail-art. Miekal And has a group devoted to the Ray is alive myth on Open Fluxus. Sort of gruesome, but Ray Johnson sent out annoucements of his own death so often that nobody believed it when he did die. So the article carries on the myth.
Of course we don't know if Neil Gordon's D-Konversion resulted from his involvement in a dumpster explosion. But it's possible. I wish I had been able to include a spread of Neil's spiritually inspired Trashpo. I believe now much will be revealed if we can translate his asemics. By Neil Gordon:
Fantastic edition DVS!
HOLY HAM HOCKS, BATMAN!! It's an instant collectors' edition, DeVillo!... Though I would've LOVED to have seen a scan from the chapter entitled "The Packer and the Porker."
Maybe the Spell Chick was speaking to you subliminally. I think sometimes church can be a Chru[t]ch.
I can't believe the things I learn I this site!! Diane, I definitely gotta spend more time checking-out that urban dictionary! Who knew??? Okay, I gotta go... CHURCH!!!!
Awesome work De Villo.
"Chruch"? - new word. Spell Chick on Spring Break - meant Church, of course.
Thank you, Dean. I'm glad the chruch envelope is useful to you. That's where randomness works. Yes, that Episcopal church is a sad story. It's repeatedly being looted and in terrible disrepair, yet very historic. Speaking of religion:
Glad to have your blessing on the fanzine, DK, as it's unauthorized being a product of DKULTNY alone. In retrospect, maybe a pork issue in April suggests some religious connection. It is a spiritually controversial meat. That wasn't the intent. Rather, it is an homage to the DK "Pork series," has the "po" for poetry, and reflects the interest in biopoetry. From the "Pork Series":

Very funny. The Dead guy date is actually believeable.
